New script – File Tabs

cass-FileTab

I don’t know about you, but i have thought of using file tabs in a layout only to find that the few tabs i had in my stash, didn’t really fit my project. If you ever experienced the same problem, you will now have the solution. This script offers you MANY possibilities to create your own tabs. Not only you can choose the color of the tabs, but you can choose the text and the font. Even better, the tabs will always be the right size. How can the script do that? It measures the size of each word you want to put and uses the size of the longest word and plan all the tabs around that size. You won’t see the script do it as it works in the blink of an eye but it does give you that perfect result every time.

You can create a blank tab of the size you want or a single tab with some text. But you can create several tabs either separately or on a single image. If you want them on a single image, you can have them all stuck on the same piece of paper or on separate papers. Talk about versatile! What can you use those for? Just about ANYTHING you want. You will fall in love with those and i am sure you will find many uses for them either in kits or in layouts.

You can find this fantastic script in my stores: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

cass-FileTab-sample-dateI am sure you would love to win this script, right? Just hop over the Happy Place thread HERE and tell me ONE use you can think for those tabs. I will be drawing for a winner on Monday night.

As for a freebie, you can grab this sample here. I created a series of four tabs for you to add dates to your project 365 or any other layout. I initially had the word “December” in there so the tabs would be long enough for you to add a month name, and then i changed it to only “month”. This allowed all the tabs to be larger than if i had use the word “month” in the script itself. This set of tabs comes in PSD format, fully layered so you can use fewer than the four tabs available. You can also use the tabs without the paper base and apply them to your own papers or even directly onto a photo.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

News from the Campus

The March workshop video is accessible to view to any logged in member. Did you have a look? I got several comments from viewers saying that they finally felt more comfortable using vectors after this workshop. Isn’t that a good thing? Go watch the edited recording and you can even purchase the downloadable version so you can view and re-view and re-re-view it as often as you want, without the worry of having to be online! And the downloadable written document is a whopping 22 pages of instructions, tips and illustrations. That is a biggie! Check it out now.

Don’t be afraid of Vectors!

PlayingWithVectorsInPSP

If you like workshops, you will be spoiled in April. I will be hosting one on April 1st called Color your world, on colorizing: we will look at colorizing elements for your layouts or your kits, but also adding colors to photos, so you will be able to use those tips for other purpose than scrapbooking. You can register right now for it. Just click this yellow button.

PSPX4box

But that is not all. Corel also has some regular workshops they call Shop Classes for their various products, including Paintshop Pro. I was invited to present one such workshop on April 2nd (yes, just the day after the other workshop). The topic is: Introduction to scripts in PaintShop Pro. I know a lot of you have asked me questions about scripts, how to use them, what they can do and such. You’ll have a chance to hear answers to a lot of those questions during that one hour class. And it is FREE. I was told they might expect over 100 attendees AND there will be something drawn as a participation prize. Don’t wait and register NOW.

Do you have an older version of PSP and you are looking for the patches since you had to reinstall it to a newer computer? The Corel site does not carry the older PSP version patches, but you can find them all neatly stored in the Campus. Those patches are all free so you can download them as you need them. Check this PSP Patches section.

Last week, due to time limitations, no new tutorial was added to the Element section but i will catch up this week and upload TWO to make it up.

Keep an eye on this blog or on our mailing list as i will be having a special call soon. Not a CT call, but something for the Campus itself. Maybe tomorrow, or Sunday. I am not telling anything more… yet! You’ll have to be patient.

New script – Embossed

cass-Embossed

Although there is an Embossing effect in PSP, i always felt it was not right. First off, it has light coming from a different angle from what i use and it usually was too bold so i decided to create a script to make different types of embossing.

This script will start with any design, pattern, image or text (choose black for best result). Then, simply run the script. Whether you have a paper beneath or not, it will not matter as the script will create an embossed “layer” that is separate from the paper, meaning you can modify it afterward, or even save it and use it on a different paper. How neat is that? You can use it for embossing a whole paper, a border, a tag, a strip of paper, etc.

In addition, the script offers you 3 types of embossing, from the bold one to the delicate one.

You can get this script in my store: Creation Cassel .

And of course, you have a chance to win this script in the Happy Place of the DST forum. Check out this thread where you can give me ideas on how embossing could be used in digital scrapbooking. Can you think of something innovative?

cass-Embossed-Samples And what about a little sampler of an embossed layer? Here are two samples. They will fit a photo or a mat about 7 x 5 inches. They are in PNG format, so you can use them in just about any graphic programs. And you can adjust them, blend them with a paper of a different color,  resize them, etc.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

This week, i received a very nice email from Linda who had just purchased the ClipToIt script (released last week). She sent me a sample of her work (but i cannot share it here because we don’t have the credits). Here is her email:

Hi Cassel - I attached a template that I have never been able to use correctly until your new script "Clip To It",  and my layout includes the bright yellow glow under the template using your Colored Edge Script and the blue tab is from your felt presets -

You have made scrapbooking so enjoyable - I just can't tell you enough how much I enjoy all your tools.

News from the Campus

I hope you had a great start of 2012. Some of you did take advantage of our Ready Set Go promotion for January and are now enjoying one of the two courses of the Campus. Glad to see you on board.

This Sunday, we will have our live presentation on Seamless patterns. Although there is a “tiling” effect in PSP, there are times when that effect does not do what you really want. Here is a section made seamless, and from scratch.

Seamless-Cassel

Date: January 8th, 2012

Time: 5PM Eastern time (GMT-5)

(notice that it is 2 hours later than usual;

hopefully our Australian colleagues will be able to attend)

Click this button to register and be sent reminders by email

Are you doing a Project 365 (or 366) this year? Do you want to know a little bit more about it? Check out last week’s article in the Campus Scrapping in the New Year – Project 365. There should be another article this weekend, along with a list of resources for you if you decide to take on that project. Are you starting one?

New script – Clip To It (and another script)

cass-ClipToIt

If you have lots of photos you want to use in your scrapping, you will definitely love this script, as it will save you a TON of time. Usually, if you are using a template, you have to place the photo on your work, resize, move and rotate the photo approximately to match the space you want to use in the template. You might play with the opacity to give you an idea of how to center Aunt Lucy’s face in the space, and then, you have to select, change layer, trim, and maybe you end up not happy with the result. Did that ever happen to you? This script will save you all that trouble. Once you add the photo on the template, run the script and magically, the template layer changes to a mask layer, and the photo gets slipped underneath, so you can actually SEE through the mask. Not only that, but you can still move, resize, rotate the image while you clearly see what it will look like. No more guessing, no more undoing. And once you are happy with the result, simply merge the group and that is it!

If you are using PSP9 or above, you can even bind this script so the whole process will be literally ONE CLICK. What do you think of that?? You can grab this script in my store: Creation Cassel .

If you want a chance to win this script, go add your name to this thread in the Happy Place and tell me what is your biggest challenge when using templates for layouts. I will be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

cass-OpenAsLayer Last week, i was discussing with another PSP user, who can code scripts. He showed me that he had tweaked and combined a couple of scripts from Corel so that you can open an image (or photo, element or paper), copy it, paste it as a new layer on your project, and close the initial file, all that in one run of a script. I thought it was a super idea. I then decided to tweak it myself too, so that the new layer will be renamed according to the filename of the image that was opened. And again, if you bind the script, you can do that as easily as choosing Open… command. Since this is NOT my script, i asked LeviFiction for the permission to distribute it in my store (until he has his own site up and running). Can you imagine the time you will save using this FREE script (calledOpenAsLayer) and theClipToIt script? You can create layouts using templates in a fraction of the time it would take you to do it the usual way.

But that is not all. Remember when you wanted to take note of all the products you used to list the credits? I have a script called Credit List Compilation. It will assume that you renamed all the layers according to the element you used. And it assumed that you did that manually. Now, you don’t have to do anything manually as this script will just do that for you! WOW!!!!

This script is only available in my personal store: Creation Cassel.

cass-WordAlbum-2011 I am sure some non-PSP users are anxious to grab a free sample from here, and the free script is really no use for them, so i decided, since it is the end of the 2011 year, that you might want to create another album to combine some photos from this last year. I had a similar album last year and i have to say that it was very popular!

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

I didn’t set up a pay-with-a-tweet or such, but i sure would appreciate it if you did tweet or post on FB about this.

Why not make a summary of your kids’ year, and repeat the same tradition every year. Imagine the nice collection they will have in the future!

News from the Campus

2012

Did you take lots of pictures during the holiday season? Do you plan on making lots of layouts in 2012? Do you want to start digital scrapbooking with PSP? or maybe, in 2012, you want to start creating some elements yourself, or at least add a little touch of YOURSELF instead of only relying on the kits made by others? You are in luck. If you keep an eye on the Campus, you will hear of a special promotion that will start on January 1st. Don’t blink because this promotion will ONLY last for 5 days (from January 1st to 5th). You will have a special price for the Basic Scrap course, and a special price for the Element Creation tutorials section.

TopSecret

Do you wonder what you can find in the Element Creation Tutorials? Keep your eyes open as there will be a super special secret sneak peak (that is a tongue twister, isn’t it?). What will it be? Well, if i told you, it would not be a secret, would it? So you will have to keep checking the Campus pages or even better, join the mailing list so you can get the news as soon as it is out!

The next webinar will be held on January 8th, but this time, it will be 2 hours later than usual. Why? so we can offer a more reasonable time to our Aussie friends. I hope they will be able to make it. This month, we will look at different ways to create seamless designs, whether you want to use a particular paper or image on your blog and make it seamless as you scroll down, or if you want to create a paper pattern from scratch (and there is more to come too).

New script – Gift Card Box

cass-GiftCardBox

Last week, i downloaded a box template from one of those craft sites, and i printed it out, cut the piece and folded it. I realized that although it was a nice box, it would not fit something i had on my desk: a gift card. So that got me thinking that i would need a different format. And while checking out the measurements, i also noticed that all gift cards were not the same size so why not make a script that would take the needed dimensions and create the template of the correct size. Then, why not add a fun closure but something for the user to choose: ANY design! And that is how this script came to be. For this holiday season, you can create a seasonal design, use your favorite papers, and have fun. Since the script is totally customizable, you can decorate the box to your liking with whatever digital supplies you have and even with paper scrapping supplies. Add glitters, stamps, inking, alphas, anything you have on hand. Use a simple closure design, like a heart or a diamond, or something more intricate, like a  detailed flower. It is your choice. The script will create a template in three layers: the outline that you can use on the reverse of patterned papers, the shape template that you can use to fill with your digital papers, and the closure in case you want to cut it separately to glue on your patterned paper. You can print one or all the layers. The maximum size will fit a printing area of 8 x 10 inches, so it should allow you to print right at home!

You can grab this script and make many different gift boxes, in my store: Creation Cassel .

cass-GiftCardBox-sampleAnd how about a chance to win it? There is a thread in the DST forum where you can tell me how you wrap gift cards. I will come back on Monday night with a winner.

And of course, i am sure you would love to get your hand on this poinsettia gift card box. It is a layered template in PSD format so you can use it in just about any program.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

News from the Campus

COREL PROMOTION - Did you take advantage of the super duper Black Friday/Cyber Monday price for the PSP X4? I hope so. If not, all is not lost as it is still somewhat on special, but not as low. Right now, you can get it at $59.99 instead of $79.99 (and free ground shipping).

WEBINAR - This Sunday, December 4th, at 3pm Eastern time, we’ll have a follow-up on last month’s webinar. This time, we’ll look at additional details in a “day converted to night” photo.

  • Add lit windows
  • Add street lighting
  • Add holiday lights
  • Emphasize a subject in the night

DetailsInTheNight Original photo from Vicki (TravlynWomyn)

If you have photos you would like me to use, you can email me with a link to your photo (you can upload them on Photobucket, or somewhere else). Sending me a link instead of the actual photos will make it lighter in a message! This previous example is using a photo from Vicki. Come on, you have less than 2 days to register (and if there are enough people requesting this webinar who cannot attend due to time zone or others, i would consider repeating it, but you HAVE to register first).

FREE PRODUCTS - Did you like the free Gift Card Box template from above? In the Campus, there will be a set of SIX templates for you to grab.

cass-GiftCardBox-Set1

They will be uploaded this weekend so come back to the Campus (in the Free products section).

See you around.

New script – Ribbon Tag Border

cass-RibbonTagBorder

Placing one or two ribbons on a layout is pretty easy. Cutting a dozen pieces of ribbons to place on a layout or to create a cluster is starting to be a bit more tedious. But how about doing the same thing with 35 pieces? That is getting long, and possibly a task you wont even want to consider. But with this script, you will be able to do that, in less than ONE MINUTE. Oh yes, it might even take you as little as 30 seconds (although you might take longer to just pick and choose with ribbons to use for the script!). So, now that you have Paintshop Pro, you can save a LOT of time with this script. You can use ANY ribbon you have in your stash. You will not be limited to choosing the colors to create individual ribbons that will always look the same. Use your grosgrain ribbon, your ricrac ribbon, your lace ribbon, your organza ribbon, your twill ribbon. Anything can be used. The script will do the trimming and all that, but the best is that it will work “randomly”, choosing the ribbons, cutting and trimming, pasting and rotating the pieces all differently from one run to the other. So you will NEVER get the exact same result twice. NEVER.

If you like the look of a bunch of little pieces of ribbons stitched, staples, or glued to a page, this is perfect. If you like the look of little pieces of ribbons peaking out of a paper, a frame, or an image, this is also perfect. And if, in the end, you don’t like the ribbons all lined up, but would love to have a bunch of little pieces to play with, to twist, to make into clusters, that is fine too because all the pieces are left on separate layers so you can play with them all night if you want!

You can find this time saving script in my store: Creation Cassel.

But as usual, i also have a giveaway in the DST forum. You can check outthis thread and add your name with an idea on how you would use this script if you won it (or if you choose to buy it). I will be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

cass-RibbonTagBorder-sampler01

I know, you are waiting for your free sample, right? I created this 3600 pixels wide border using some of Wendy Page’s ribbons. I only chose 3 of them, ran the script, added the shadows on separate layers (the script prompted me to), but then, I added a stitching and played with the separate shadows to make this border more “alive” with some ribbons being lifted off the stitching. The whole set of ribbons is on ONE layer and the stitching is on a separate one. Maybe you will want to add your own stitching? or some staples? or other fasteners? If so, just use the stitching line as a guide and then hide it or delete it.

This week, no Pay-with-a-Tweet, but of course, you are more than allowed to tweet or post about it on Facebook. I would always appreciate the visibility, especially if some of your friends are using PSP (or considering using it) and don’t know my store and my products!

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

News from the Scrapbook Campus

Last week, one student of the Campus sent me a sample she had made using the Tulle Lace tutorial (from the Element Creation tutorials section). I HAD to share. With Judy’s permission, see what she did:

judy_tulle_sample

I thought it was GORGEOUS! What do you think? The techniques in the tutorials are explained as basically as possible but you can see that there is much much more than the basic that can be done! Here is what another student said about the Campus:

As for the campus - WOW - what can I say? I'm having such a GREAT time, its not only learning the specific tasks, but also gaining the confidence to play around more with the controls on other projects. I suppose my main problem is that I'm still quite ignorant about how all the effects etc work, which is why I find it all so exciting - I'm like a kid let loose in the sweetie shop. I 'made' some ric rac trim at the weekend, and I was jumping around the kitchen feeling really pleased with myself......sad or what? Who cares, I'm having fun.
Best regards,
Sue

Our next Webinar will be held on December 4th, at 3pm Eastern time. We’ll look at ways to add some details to a daytime photo turned to night time.

  • Add lit windows
  • Add street lighting
  • Add holiday lights
  • Emphasize a subject in the night

Do you want to join us?

Are you a digital scrapper? There is also an article on the main page about 10 Common Mistakes in Digital Scrapbooking. Although the “mistakes” mentioned there are not always absolute, they can at least give you some things to think about when you are using digital medium to create your pages. There are lots of effects that can make or break a layout if you are not paying attention to them. Although rules are meant to be broken (so i heard), breaking them accidentally will often give an odd look to a layout without it being obvious. Just check those mistakes, and look at your layouts. Maybe you already know how to avoid them? Maybe you never thought of them? Maybe you’ll go “Ah-ah! that is why it looked “weird”.

Finally, if you have been thinking of getting your hand on a copy of PSPX4, there is a fantastic promotion at Corel until Nov 30th only : you can get the PSP X4 or the Ultimate version for a “steal”.

Paintshop Pro X4 for $29.99

Paintshop Pro X4 Ultimate for $39.99 (and this adds many extra goodies, including the NIK Efex Pro 3.0 photo filters which detail for $100 on their own; if you don’t believe me, just google it!)

A little detail i need to tell you: this deal is only for North America BUT, there’s nothing stopping someone from purchasing an extra copy for themselves and giving it as a “gift” (do you have a “friend” in Canada/US ?)

* hint * hint * hint *

See you around in the Campus.

New script – Folded Ribbon #5

cass-FoldedRibbon5

Straight ribbons can be useful, but also boring. This script will turn just about any straight ribbon into a dynamic folded one. Whether you are using your own ribbon, or let the script create one, you can get pretty creative in what you will be using. In fact, you can use a plain ribbon but also a translucent one, a lace one, a patterned one, even one with directional designs like text. The script will pick the right segments to put end to end for a realistic “continuity” of the pattern.

The end result will be about 3600 pixels long so it will cover most of the width of your layout. And the layers will be left unmerged (but linked so you can move it around). You can then insert various trinkets if you want.

You can get this script in my store: CreationCassel .

And why not add your name to this thread in the DST forum Happy Place for a chance to win this script on Monday night. Just give me ideas of how you might be using this script. Be creative. I LOVE to read your suggestions.

cass-FoldedRibbon5-samples And for a closer look at the result of this script, i created 2 ribbons from scratch (so they are 100% original) and ran the script on them. You get both the straight version and the folded version of both. That means you can use them separately, together or even run another script on the straight ribbon. Remember that there are many other scripts in the store that could be used with a straight ribbon of yours!

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

News from the Campus

“Be the master of time”. If you have not yet registered for the webinar planned for Nov 6th, you still have a week to do so. If there are too many registrations, i might consider making a second live presentation. That means that you might be able to attend at another time, live, and ask questions during the presentation. Also, if i present the webinar a second time, i would be using different photos. Do you have photos you would like me to use? Send them to me! Landscape images will be better for the season change, but to change the time of day, just about any image would probably do. So, remember, you need to register for me to know how many of you are interested!

If you are a registered member of the Element Creation Tutorials section, did you notice the newest tutorial posted last week? A quick and easy one, but still very useful in layouts or kits.

DSD is coming. Did you know that there will be a special promotion in the Campus? If you have been considering registering and thought you were a bit tight on money, you will want to keep a close eye on it. Do you have a friend who might be interested in registering to EITHER one of the courses? You might want to get in touch with that friend soon. The promotion will only last a few days. Don’t miss it. If you want to make certain you get the news in time, just add your name to our mailing list.

Subscribe here

There are a few more advantages to be on the mailing list:

- you will automatically get a FREE ebook on how you can turn your “blah” photos into WOW photos, in 30 seconds or less

- you will get some EXCLUSIVE goodies too. Those goodies were actually suggested by the current members of the list (and they didn’t realize it yet as it will be a real surprise, even for them!)

New Tubes – Chain beads

cass-ChainBeads1

How about some metal beads to create necklaces, bracelets, frames, or any other element you can think of using “ball chain”look? You can now do it with those great Paintshop Pro Picture tubes. These sets of beads are not going to make a boring row of totally identical beads, but they incorporate some slight differences in the beads so it looks more realistic. You have some gold beads, silver beads, brass beads, and more. You can place them one by one by simply clicking here and there and everywhere. You can “draw” with them as they will follow your mouse movement as if you were drawing a line. Or you can also place them evenly along a vector path you could have drawn with your favorite tool. Use the Pen tool to create a base “thread”, and then use the Vector Tube script to place the beads along that path, for a great free flowing chain look.

Use the default settings, or change the size or the step for a different and custom look.

You can get these tubes in my store : Creation Cassel.

And how about a chance to win them all? Check this thread in the DST forum. Tell me what is your favourite set of beads and you might with them all.

cass-ChainBeads1-samples

Time for a nice little freebie. I created those chains for you to incorporate into your layouts. There are 2 long chains and 2 small ones. The small ones can easily be used to attach a tag or other elements. They are in PNG format, so they should be useable in most graphic program.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

News from the Campus

Last week, we had a webinar on using shadows. The most fun part was to show how to use layered shadows in clusters to make a fantastic end result. Most participants commented on that technique that was new to them. The webinar was recorded and should be available soon (hopefully this weekend), in the Webinar section of the Campus. It will be accessible to all registered members of the Campus (registration is free). The next Webinar will be organized this weekend, so you keep an eye on that page.

Did you want to register for the Basic Scrap Course? Did you postpone that decision? You might want to keep a close watch on the Campus as there will be another promotion coming up soon. You might want to join our many other members in the classroom. I can see several members having a blast with what they learn with the tutorials.

Big special for Paintshop Pro X4

Corel is having a big promotion for a limited time only. You can get a FULL version of PSPX4 for $39.99. We are not talking only update, but a complete version (the update is the same price too). This promotion is only until October 16. And if you have an old version of PSP, there is NO NEED to upgrade since you can run both versions side by side; you can get the newest tools and features, and still use the interface you are used to. And yes, you can have multiple versions installed on the same machine: i have versions 8, 9, X, X1, X2, X3 and X4 installed at the same time (occasionally, i even RUN 2 or 3 simultaneously when i am testing scripts).

Get PSPX4 for $39.99

(although i am an affiliate for Corel, this special is NOT through my affiliate link)

New script – Shattered

cass-Shattered

How long would it take you to cut an image in random pieces, separate them in individual layers, resize them, rotate them, move them and then add shadows to each of them? With your Paintshop Pro and this script, it will only take you a few seconds and a few clicks. And if you dont like the result, no problem; run the script again. You will NEVER get the same result twice because of the random features incorporated into the code.

You can stop the script right after the pieces are cut and separated in layers, or you can keep going and get each piece slightly resized, rotated and moved randomly.

You can stop the script here too, or choose to add a drop shadow. In this case, you will decide on all the settings for the shadow and the script will apply the exact same settings on all the pieces, no matter how many there are. Since the script ends with unmerged layers, you can keep manipulating all the pieces as you wish, deleting some, moving others, etc.

You can get this script in either of my stores: Creation Cassel or DigiScrapWarehouse.

cass-Shattered-sampleHow about a chance to win this script for free? You can, by simply adding your name to this thread in the DST Forum, telling me of one creative use you can think of for this script, and Monday, i will announce a winner.

And now, as usual, you are expecting a freebie, right? Well, since this script applies on a photos, i could hardly give you a cut up picture. I am sure you would not care to get one of MY pictures! So, i figured i could make a layered template with the pieces still in place, not resized, rotated or moved. That way, you can apply that template to any picture of YOURS and create a similar effect.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

Paintshop Pro X4 is out.

Paintshop Pro X4 came out Wednesday this week. I have been part of the beta testing team for a few months. If you want to know about the improvements or additions, and if it is not too late for you, you can join their live demonstration tonight (there is one left, and you can register here). One thing i can say is that it is more stable than X3 was, so it might interest you!

News about the Campus

Did you add your suggestions for which type of elements you would like to learn to create yourself? If not, it is still time. Just hop over to this page and add your name and suggestion. And then, be sure to check your emails or check the Campus again very soon as the Element Creation Tutorials section should go live within a few days. And you will have a chance for some GREAT bonuses. And i mean GRRRRREAT. Subscribe to the mailing list on that page, follow us on Twitter, or like us on Facebook to be sure you know when the section goes live because you dont want to miss the time limited bonuses!

See you around the Campus.

New Script – FLower Power

cass-FlowerPower

This little script for Paintshop Pro might not seem like much but how often did you want to get a flower shape and had to do all the duplicating and rotating manually? This script will do just that for you. With a random feature integrated, you might get between 6 and 15 petals, and each petal will be slightly different in size and shape, so you will always get a new shape.

In addition to creating a different shape, you can generate it as a vector shape to be exported as a custom shape, so you can use it at any time, later on. You can choose to have it in layered raster with your choice of color, gradient or pattern, or you can ask for a plain basic flat sample, again in the color of your choice (perfect for layering).

Once the script is run, you can keep adding details, modify the individual petals, add glitters on the edge, re-arrange the petal order, remove one petal, etc. So many things you could do!

You can get this script in my stores: CreationCassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

If you want a chance to win this script, simply go over to the DST forum, and add your name to this thread. I will be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

cass-FlowerPower-sample I am sure you are also looking for a freebie sample for this script. That is exactly what i did. I ran the script and got a few random shapes and i played with them. On one layered shape, i added a glittered edge with the Glittered Edge script on each individual petal, then i slipped the last petal under the first one for the  gold color flower. Then, i played with the Felt script to add a felt texture on 3 coloured copies of the same flower, and layered them. You get one PNG sample and the matching PSD format flower. Finally, i ran the Inked Edge script on a purple flower, petal by petal, and then, i removed the petals themselves, leaving only the inked border. I think it does give a really fun result that i didn’t even expect! What can you do with that script?

For the fun of it, this week i took the time to create a scrap page about one day of geogaching with my husband. It was a fun day, and since i have been meaning to make a whole album on our geocaching adventures, which started 3 years ago with my sons, i think i just found a style that might work for this. What do you think? I might just post the other pages as i create them. Do you do geocaching? Tell me about it!

From the Campus:

This is getting more and more exciting. Several people emailed me saying they would like to learn how to create this and that element with their Paintshop Pro, and i kept smiling because that is exactly what i am preparing! Many tutorials are in the making to create papers, elements, textures, fasteners, text effects, and more. So keep an eye on the Element Creation Tutorials of the Campus, subscribe to the mailing list if you want to be first to learn when registrations open so you can take advantage of the special price.

New script – Quick tiles

cass-QuickTiles

Do you sometimes run out of ideas to create patterned papers? This script will help you pass that designer’s block. Open any photo, image or colored doodle, and run the script. You can generate up to 25 tiles in one run. Every run will give you a different set of tiles as there are several random functions integrated: a random area will be picked in the image, random settings to create the pattern, and random settings for the seamless feature if you choose it.

This tool will help Paintshop Pro users create a ton of interesting patterns, very quickly. In fact, you can get those 25 tiles in less than one minute! With all those tiles generated, keep the ones you like, delete the others. If you dont have enough, run the script again. Simple!

Due to a technical glitch, the script is not yet available in the stores, but it will be soon. I will update this post as soon as the script is available.

cass-QuickTiles-samplesAlthough it is not available for purchase, it is available to win! Check out this thread in the DST forum and simply go add your name to it with a comment about the script. Just that. No hoops to jump through, no long math problem. Just add a comment. I will be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

As for a sample, this week, i am giving you 10 tiles that were generated from the photo in the script preview. Use those tiles to create your own papers. Adjust the scale and the angle to get different effects. Add a texture, an overlay, etc. What will you do with them? Show me your layouts!
