New script – Scales 2

Scale pattern script for PaintShop ProThis new script will create some seamless scale patterns with any color palette you want.

You can add a 3D effect with some faint shadows (particularly useful if you don't use an outline to separate similar colors), or use an existing photo to pick all the colors from it.

Many options are available when you run this script.

Scale seamless patterns in jpg formatAs a sample, I created 3 seamless tiles with green shades to go with a possible dinosaur theme. Of course, you can also use those with a garden theme or anything else. There is also a full-size paper with randomized greens. All the elements used the same color palette so they should match if you want to use them together.

New script – Painted Frames 1

Painted Frame script for PaintShop ProAlthough you can create a painted frame manually, sometimes, you want to save time and work and create a simple yet precise frame that still looks hand drawn. This script will do that for you in just a few seconds.

You can choose any design, any color and any thickness. Tweak the end result if you want as it will be left unmerged on your work.

Painted frames in png formatFor samplers, I created two double frames with the script, on a 5x7 photo. Since both layers are left separate, I changed the color of one of the two to create something more interesting. I used the colors from the June blog train at DigitalScrapbook.com.

New script – Hanging Photos 2

Hanging Photos script for PaintShop ProIt can be fun to display photos on a string, and in digital projects, it is just as easy, although it can be tedious to resize, move, rotate and attach all the photos on one image. That is why I coded this script.

You can now display as many photos as you want on up to 6 strings. The script will take care of all the tedious and repetitive tasks for you. You will end up with unmerged layers so you can tweak the default arrangement as you wish.

New script – Swatch Palette

Swatch Palette script for PaintShop ProIt might be easy to create a swatch palette in PaintShop Pro, but if you are starting with a large number of colors, it can be tedious. And referring to the same image whenever you are working on a project can also be annoying.

With this script, you can start with any image that includes the colors you want to use, and transfer them into a color palette available inside your PaintShop Pro. And all that, in just a few seconds. No need to pick and choose the colors or worse, have to type in the hex codes.

In order to win this script, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us if you ever created your own custom palette (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

As a sampler, I used the color palettes for the next three blog trains in the DigitalScrapbook.com forum and converted them into palettes you can simply add to your PSP. Two versions of the palettes are available: one for versions 9-X6 (identified with V9 in the name) and one for versions X7 and up (identified with VX7 in the name). Unzip the ones you need for your version and save the files (or the whole folder for versions X7 and up) in the Swatches folder of your PSP. Since they are different for different versions, don't put everything in the same place, if you have earlier and older versions of PSP referring to the same content folder. If needed, simply put them in the default folders, in Documents.

New script – Phrase Strips

Phrase strips script for PaintShop ProYou can use individual stips of "papers" in different colors to showcase quotes, phrases, or individual lines of a poem but doing that manually is time-consuming and tedious. And adding extra details means that you have to repeat the process for each strip, one by one.

This script will save you a lot of time while giving you great flexibility. You can choose up to 10 colors/gradients/patterns to use as a paper background. You can you ANY font, and as many as you want to add variety. You can use any number of phrases. And there are also additional options for you to choose from.

New script – Bow #22

This script will create a double bow out of a single thin ribbon. Although you can have the same ribbon for all the loops, you can also colorize the inside loops and tails to give the impression of using different ribbons.

Even more, you can let the script group the layers for the inside bow, and then copy and paste the whole group into another bow made with the same script, and you would end up with completely different ribbons in your bow.

For a sample, I used two ribbons from Janet Kemp (you can get them HERE) and colorized them three times. I then combined the inside loops from the solid-colored bows and inserted them into the floral bows.

New script – Streaks

Streaking colors script for PaintShop ProWith graphic programs, we can manipulate images in ways that the camera itself cannot do. With this script, you can add streaks from your image, to convey a sense of movement, speed, or displacement. Then, you can also manipulate those streaks to give some wave effects, to show elements through, to fade its colors, etc. So many ways this can be manipulated.

You can apply this effect to any photo, in any of the four basic directions, and you can also have the ends of the streaks reach the edge of the image or not, for different effects.

Stitched ribbons in png formatFor a sample, of course, I cannot use my photos as they would likely be useless to you. So I decided to create some stitched ribbons for you using the Two-Tone Stitches from last week. I started with a basic greyscale ribbon, added the stitches on both edges, added texture, bevel, and shadows, and then, with the warp brush, I modified the stitching line so it would follow the uneven edges of the ribbon, for a more "realistic" look.

Keep the eggs you like and discard the rest. Run the script again if you want more eggs.

New script – Triangles 3

Triangle pattern for seamless tiles script in PaintShop ProTriangular shapes are easy to make and they can yield great results when used as a repeating pattern. However, the challenge is usually to mix and match the colors. This is what the script will do for you as it can generate up to 20 seamless tiles in one run, using any color palette of your choice.

The script will also leave the background color layer separate so you can change it or even use only the top layer if you want to cover a full size gradient with it for a completely different look.

Triangle seamless tiles For a sample, I generated 15 tiles (3 tiles for each of the 5 patterns) in pastel/Easter/spring colors. Use them at 100% scale or smaller if you prefer. You can also add a blur to the finished image if you want.

Gelatine rainbow digits in PNG formatFor a sample, I created a set of digits starting with a rainbow gradient. This seems cheery enough to be used in just about any project. Each digit is about 600 pixels high so you can resize them as needed. The set also includes a hyphen so you might be able to write a date.
