New script – Painted Cardboard

Painted Cardboard script for Paintshop ProWhat do you like about incorporating ripped pieces of papers in a digital project? The rustic look? Maybe. But how do you go around getting those for your layout other than scanning them?

Easy! You use a script in Paintshop Pro!

This script will let you start with any shape, in any color and it will work its magic with just a few questions to answer or choices to make. That's it! It will create the ripped uneven edges, and convert your initial color into strips of uneven paint.

And best of all, every run will yield a different result because of the random function incorporated into the script. If you don't like one result, undo (Ctrl-Z) and run again. It's that easy!

For a chance to win this script, i decided to change things around a bit. THIS WEEK, you need to comment on THIS FACEBOOK POST instead of here. The winner will be announced NEXT week in the newsletter. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Painted Cardboard framesAs a sample, i created 3 frames using this script. All three were made starting with a different gradient instead of a solid color. They are about 6 inches in the longest side so you should be able to get a photo in them.

With this rustic look, you can probably combine those frames with other elements in a cluster. That would be great! Don't you think?

New script – Puffy Paint

cass-puffypaintNow, you can use your Paintshop Pro to add a fun line of puffy paint around an edge of a shape or a letter.

You can replicate that uneven look of puffy paint in various colors or thickness, with this script.

Add an outline around any shape or draw your own lines and convert them to puffy paint look.

Every run of the script will give you a different look because of the random feature coded in the script.

Get this fun script in the store: Puffy Paint

For a chance to win this script, tell me what element or design you would like to create using puffy paint. I will announce a winner in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

cass-puffypaint-digitsAs a sampler of what you can get with this script, I created a set of digits in "white". You can easily fill them in with the color of your choice for a different look.

Since it is white, you can also consider them as icing digits. And why not fill them with our own Sprinkles?

Each digit is about 400 pixels high in PNG format.

A complete set will be available in the newsletter, so keep an eye on it, this coming Sunday.

New tubes – Holiday Charms

cass-holidaycharmsSometimes, for the holidays, you need a little delicate touch. These charms are just what you need.

These are picture tubes will allow you to draw the chain however you want, and the charms will be evenly spaced along that chain.

Use the settings that come with the picture tubes for an even spacing, but if you want to be a bit wild, you can change the selection mode to Random, and that will place the charms in a random spacing and random order too.

You get a set of golden trees, golden snowflakes, white snowflakes, coloured snowmen, and coloured stockings.

Get these tubes in the store: Holiday Charms

For a chance to win this set of tubes, tell me what other shapes you would like to have as charms. I will announce the winner in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week). There will also be an additional surprise for winner as their wish will come true and i'll create a set of charms in that shape. And EVERYONE who will comment will get it. So you better add your suggestion!

cass-holidaycharms-elementFor the sample, this week, I created a double swag with the white snowflakes.

The element is 3300 pixels wide and in png format so it can be used with other programs if you want a chance to look closely at those elements.

Christmas Lights – PSP Tubes

Christmas light picture tubes for Paintshop ProHow about adding some Christmas lights to your project?

If you are looking for ready made elements, they might be the wrong color for your goal, or the wrong length, or the wrong shape.

But with these tubes, you can "draw" a light string any way you want.

You get a total of 12 sets to play with and combine if you want.

Get them in the store: Christmas Lights

Would you like to get those strings for free? Tell me, in the comments below, how you would use them in your project. I will pick a random winner among those who comment and will announce it in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Christmas Lights FrameAs a sampler, I created several oval frames using 5 monochrome sets and one multicolored set.

All the sets are drawn along the exact same path so you can overlap some frames to combine 2 or 3 colors that you might prefer.

All the frames are in PNG format.

New script – Playdough

Playdough texture script for Paintshop ProAs a child, you likely have played with playdough (or plasticine). You must have created textures, poked your finger in it, rolled it to make snakes and used cookie cutters to create various shapes.

Now, with this script, you can replicate that fun effect with any shape and color (even multicolored elements).

The script will generate a texture based on a texture tile but also a random array of settings, making each run create a slightly different texture.

You can choose one of 4 thickness, which will be more appropriate with the size of the project, or the size of the individual element.

The script will even add a drop shadow on a separate layer. If you like that shadow, just keep it. If you prefer to add your own, you can do so too.

Get this script in the store: Playdough.

What kind of designs would you create with this script? Would you write text? Create long and twisted "snakes"? cut out shapes? Tell me in the comments below. I'll pick a winner and will announce it next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Playdough alphabetFor a sampler, I created a "hand drawn" alphabet for you. I used three fall colors.

Since several letters were created with overlapping segments, the drop shadows were added to each of them.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

What project will you crate with those?

New script – Custom Kit Labels

cass-customkitlabelsIf you are creating kits, you will want to use this script to create a variety of labels in just a few seconds. Keep the ones that you like, and discard the others.

If you are just using a ready made kit, you can create a few labels based on the papers of your project. Pick the one or two that you prefer and you will get a perfect match.

You can choose any paper, any size, any shape, and have any color in the center. The script will create a variety of labels with random combinations of the different options you will have picked.

You can get this script in the store: Custom Kit Labels

What would be your favorite shape for labels? would you prefer to have circles, squares, rectangles, ellipses or something else? Tell me in the comments below for a chance to win this script. The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

cass-customkitlabels-autumnAs a sampler, I ran the script using 5 papers from the kit Enchanted Autumn from Marisa Lerin. This set includes 15 different labels, ranging in size between 600 and 1000 pixels. Some are round, some are oval, some are square and some are rectangular.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

New script – Powder Texture

Powder texture script for Paintshop ProThis script will be fun for anyone who has a cooking theme project: now you can write and draw with flour. Well, not real flour but you can turn your design into flower looking elements.

If you are using different colors, it could become spices: yellow for turmeric, red for paprika, grey for black pepper, etc.

Write a name, draw a shape, have fun with any design. Make it uneven with the Brush variance for an even more realistic look.

You can have flour (or baby powder) on your scrapbook pages, without making a mess!

Get this script today in the store: Powder Texture

For a chance to win this script, tell me what element you would most likely create with it (flour, baby powder, spice, paint, etc.) in the comments below. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Flour alphabet freebieAs a sampler, this week, I created a complete alphabet for you. It includes all the 26 letters, and some punctuation elements.

Each letter is about 900 pixels high so you have ample opportunity to resize them to suit your project.

Will you use them as flour or baby powder?

New script – Brick Wall

Brick wall script for Paintshop ProYou might be able to use a photo of a brick wall as a paper background for your project, but you might wish to have something that would match more closely your favorite color, or color palette.

No need to colorize those bricks individually. This script will create a simple brick wall pattern with the brick colors matching your palette, despite still offering variations like normal walls would.

You can have a monochrome wall that will have bricks ranging from your selected color to white. You can choose two colors and the bricks will range between those two. Or you can  have a wilder pattern with multicolored bricks, although they would still slightly revolve around one color you pick.

Choose to add a brick pattern on your active image or create a brand new one, in the size you want.

Get this script here: Brick Wall

What would you use a brick wall paper for? Give me some suggestions in the comments below, and i'll pick someone to win this script for free. I'll announce the winner in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Brick wall papers - blueAs a sample, I created 3 full size papers (3600x3600) all based around the same blue color. It gives you a good idea of how flexible this script can be.

You can always modify those papers by "wearing" it down, tearing the edges (or cutting out some bricks).

So what will you do?

New script – Bow #11

Bow made from straight ribbon - script for Paintshop ProWho can say they have enough bows in their digital stash? Nobody!

When looking for bows to use in your projects, are you stuck with the same design, with the same polkadots or the same stripes? And then, having other ribbon elements that are just not matching?

This script will take any straight ribbon and tie it in a simple bow. You can use any kind of ribbon, opaque or translucent, plain or patterned, striped or polkadot, etc.

And for a unique touch, the loose ends will be randomly cut so you won't get two identical bows, even if you start with the same ribbon.

Get this ribbon script in the store: Bow #11

For a chance to win this script, tell me where you would use bows in a project? This is probably going to be a super easy answer to add to the comments below. I'll pick a winner and announce it in the newsletter next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

cass-Bow11-samplesThis coming weekend, it will be July 1st (Canada Day) and July 4th (Independance Day) so i created two basic ribbons with the blue white and red colors and one with red and white. Then, i ran the script for each one. I also used the Knot#7 script to create the additional knot.

Furthermore, i am including the basic ribbons too, so you can use them as is, or with other scripts to create more knots and bows.

New tubes – Fence links

Fence Links tubesWhat could you do with a custom fence made of interlocking links in the color of your choice and the length of your choice?

But the biggest question is where to find such a perfect fence? You can now create it yourself with this set of picture tubes. Draw the fence straight or curvy with your cursor and the links will magically attach together.

You get a set of 12 color fence links. You can make your fence in one single color, or you can attach several colors together.

Get these fence links in the store: Fence Links.

What would you do with a chain link fence? Any idea for a project? A theme to use it? Tell me in the comments below and i'll pick a winner next week to be announced in the newsletter. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Chain link fencesAs a sampler this week, I created 2 fences for you to use. One is blue white and red (perfect for our American friends celebrating the 4th of July, or our French friends for the 14th of July),  and one red and white for my Canadian friends, celebrating on July 1st.

Both fences are a bit over 3000 pixels in length. You can resize them if needed.
