New script – Doppler

Doppler effect script for PaintShop ProThe Doppler effect is that difference in sound you hear when a vehicle runs in your direction, and then away from you. It is a sort of echo of the soundwave.

This script will create that "wave" on top or on the bottom of any text you provide. You can use a solid color, a gradient or even a pattern. In the end, the main text and the "echo" will be on separate layers so you can apply different effects to it, separately.

Doppler effect on individual digitsAs a sample, I ran the script on individual digits starting with a black text. This will allow you to colorize the elements to match your project. To maintain the transparency on these digits while adding color, lock the transparency of the layer, fill with the material you want, and unlock the transparency.

Alpha-Tokens digits

cass-Alpha-Tokens-Set1-Digits

Everyone loves numbers. You can obviously use digits to write a date, you can use it to identify an anniversary or a birthday. You can use it to make a list of the 10 things you like or the 5 places you want to visit. You can use them to count elements or people in a particular photo or at a particular event.

Using the Alpha-Tokens script, i created this set of digits (with a few useful symbols if you want to write a date).

I used the font called Curlz MT. It is a fun and curly font and a wooden base.

Each token is 600 pixels in size so you can size it down if you need to.

In this example, i created a little eyelet with the vector tool, in white and then, applied a Super Blade Pro gold effect. I made a hole in the tokens themselves too. The string was done with using a Twisted Rope tube on a vector path with the Vector Tube script. Then, in order to “thread” the rope in and out of the eyelet, i used the simple interlacing technique illustrated in this tutorial.

Twisted Text – Sampler

cass-TwistedText-Numbers

Using a kid like font and three primary colors, i created this fun series of digits using the Twisted Text script.

This series is about 900 pixels long, so you can repeat it over and over again around a photo or a layout for a kid related theme layout or even a school themed layout.

Each digit is well separated so you can also cut some out and use the individual digits separately if you prefer. Why not?

New script – Paperclip

cass-Paperclip

Although this is nowhere the time for back to school (except if you consider going back after the holidays), here is a script for you to create your own paperclips. They will look like those plastic paperclips that you can get in stores, but in this case, you can use just about any shape you want. Use some basic shapes, letters, numbers, arrows, speech bubbles, or any hand drawn shape. Of course, thick shapes will give better results.

You can also let the script add the default bevel or add your own. Or, if you have a particular filter you want to use, just run the script to create a paperclip shape, with the correct cutout. The script will also allow you to decide how high the cutout will be, so if you have a shape that requires a cutout to stop at a precise height, you can set it up for that too.

This script is available in my stores: Creation Cassel,

And as usual, here is a free sample for you. You will get a whole set of paperclip digits. These are perfect to include a date, an age, or any other emphasis on numbers.
