New script – Swatch Palette

Swatch Palette script for PaintShop ProIt might be easy to create a swatch palette in PaintShop Pro, but if you are starting with a large number of colors, it can be tedious. And referring to the same image whenever you are working on a project can also be annoying.

With this script, you can start with any image that includes the colors you want to use, and transfer them into a color palette available inside your PaintShop Pro. And all that, in just a few seconds. No need to pick and choose the colors or worse, have to type in the hex codes.

In order to win this script, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us if you ever created your own custom palette (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

As a sampler, I used the color palettes for the next three blog trains in the DigitalScrapbook.com forum and converted them into palettes you can simply add to your PSP. Two versions of the palettes are available: one for versions 9-X6 (identified with V9 in the name) and one for versions X7 and up (identified with VX7 in the name). Unzip the ones you need for your version and save the files (or the whole folder for versions X7 and up) in the Swatches folder of your PSP. Since they are different for different versions, don't put everything in the same place, if you have earlier and older versions of PSP referring to the same content folder. If needed, simply put them in the default folders, in Documents.

New script – Diamond Painting

Diamond painting offers a way to turn an "ordinary" image into something magical and shimmering. It is a long and tedious process.

The script will convert any image (or design) into a diamond painting. Of course, you won't have the physical texture to play with but it will only take you a few seconds to complete.

The zip file also includes picture tubes for the individual "drills" in case you want to add some in other locations.

For a freebie, I used some cute animal cliparts and converted them into diamond paintings. Each one is fairly large so you can size them down as needed.

New Picture Tubes – Colored Pearls

Colored pearls picture tubes for PaintShop ProYou can create gold and silver chains with various picture tubes available in the store, and now, you can add colored pearls to your jewelry box.

You get 12 sets of pearls, and each set includes 20 slightly different images so that a string of pearls won't be just multiple copies of the exact same image. Place them manually with your cursor or use the VectorTube script to place them precisely along a vector path.

Get them in the store: Colored Pearls

Pearl digits in PNG formatFor a sampler, I created a set of digits using the red pearls. Each digit is about 550 pixels high, so you can resize them as needed.

New script – Streaks

Streaking colors script for PaintShop ProWith graphic programs, we can manipulate images in ways that the camera itself cannot do. With this script, you can add streaks from your image, to convey a sense of movement, speed, or displacement. Then, you can also manipulate those streaks to give some wave effects, to show elements through, to fade its colors, etc. So many ways this can be manipulated.

You can apply this effect to any photo, in any of the four basic directions, and you can also have the ends of the streaks reach the edge of the image or not, for different effects.

In order to win this script, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us what photo would be suitable for this streaking effect (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) Stitched ribbons in png formatFor a sample, of course, I cannot use my photos as they would likely be useless to you. So I decided to create some stitched ribbons for you using the Two-Tone Stitches from last week. I started with a basic greyscale ribbon, added the stitches on both edges, added texture, bevel, and shadows, and then, with the warp brush, I modified the stitching line so it would follow the uneven edges of the ribbon, for a more "realistic" look.

New script – Travel Tag 2

You can choose any color you want so it will be matching your project. You can write just about any text you want. There is even a rectangle reserved for you to add something yourself (you can even handwrite something if you want).

Tear off the bottom part if you want, and use the two sections separately.

New script – Decorated Eggs 4

Decorated Easter Eggs script for PaintShop ProIt is always fun to have Easter Eggs to put in a basket, or as add-ons to a graphic project. This script is the fourth in the series and will let you create up to a dozen different eggs based on the colors you want and other options.

Each run of the script will create a different combination of designs and randomly selected colors from your palette.

Keep the eggs you like and discard the rest. Run the script again if you want more eggs.

New script – Newspaper Alpha

Newspaper alphabet script for PaintShop ProNewspapers can be a fun medium to print letters on, and create a random effect. This might be easy but it is quite tedious to have something very irregular. That is why this script will be a time-saver.

The script will let you choose several fonts that will be used at random (you can also choose only one font if you want). Then, you can also select up to 6 colors that will also be selected at random. Finally, you can ask the script to respect the cases or mix up the uppercase and lowercase for the characters you chose.

And you can even choose to have tinted paper if you want to match a color palette.

New script – Bow #20

Bow script for PaintShop ProA simple bow might be all you need for your project, but how do you find the correct one? Using a ready-made bow and colorizing it might work but might also be a lot of work.

This script will use any straight ribbon and cut random pieces from it to create the bow. This means that even using the same starting ribbon, you will have different results.

In the center, you can let the script use the ribbon for the knot or choose a solid color for a contrasting effect.

The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Bows in png formatFor a sample, I created three straight polkadot ribbons with holiday colors and ran the script to generate three matching bows. The straight ribbons are also included in the zip file so you can use them separately.

New script – Circles and Spirals

Circles and spirals script for PaintShop ProYou can place elements along a circle or a spiral manually, but it is quite tedious.

This script will take care of all the calculations for you and create that perfect circle or spiral with any starting element. Use beads, pearls, flowers, greenery, hearts, stars, flower petals, etc.

Use the circles for frames, and the spirals for accents.

Halloween circle frames and spiralFor a sampler, I created two large circle frames and one spiral with bats coming at you. Each element is in png format and about 3000 pixels wide, so you can resize them as needed.

New script – Bow #19

Bow script for PaintShop ProUsing bows and knots can be quite versatile as long as you have variety. This is the 19th type of bow in the store (and we have knots too) so using your own straight ribbon, you will have the option to create some matching bows. The script uses a random location on the ribbon so if you run the script multiple times on a patterned ribbon, you will get different results.

If you don't have a straight ribbon to use, the script can generate one for you with your choice of color, gradient or pattern.

In order to win these tubes, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us if you tend to use bows in your projects (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) Little bows in colors in PNG formatAs a sampler, I created six little bows using ribbons from Janet Kemp. I layered a grosgrain ribbon with lace and flattened both. Then, I ran the script. I then ran the script on the grosgrain ribbon alone (without the lace), and since the layers were not merged, I copied and pasted the knot part only to replace the one on the "lacy" bow. It is a little more work but it shows how versatile this script can be with unmerged layers.
