New script – Eyelet #3

cass-Eyelet03

Eyelet laces are so diverse that I thought there would not be any problem in adding another eyelet script, with some different designs and combinations.

This script will use a 4 petal flower (instead of the 5 petal one, from last week), and the edge has a different shape. You can have one or two rows of flowers, which will be alternating if you choose a second row. And you can add another “edge” above the flowers, and it will be aligned perfectly, depending on whether you have a single or double row of flowers. You can even have both “edges” with no flower at all, and add your own gems or designs in the space created with them.

As for the previous eyelet script, you can add designs on the top, the bottom or both edges in the same run.

Use those designs on ribbon (you just choose the color of the embroidery, but you can use an actual ribbon to add the embroidery on it, create your own ribbon, etc.

You can grab this fun script in my store: Creation Cassel

If you want to add your name to the RAK thread in here, go for it. You have a chance to win this script and be on your way to add eyelets to all your projects.

cass-Eyelet3-sample-frameHow about a little sample of what this script can do? I ran the script on a long piece of textured solid color to create a ribbon. I did the same thing twice, to get a top and a bottom edge with proper bevelling (NEVER flip or mirror an element that has been shadowed or bevelled). Then, using a copy of the ribbons, i applied a different bevel angle before merging and rotating the copies to make the vertical edges of the frame. Then, it was just a matter of applying a mitered corner technique to align and cut the corners correctly. What do you think of it?

New script – Eyelet #2

cass-Eyelet2

A long time ago, one script was added in the store to create a basic eyelet design using Paintshop Pro. This time, not only you get ribbon, but you can choose many more options and the script is also responsive to offer you choices based on the size of your starting image.

You get 3 embroidered designs: the edge, the eyelets and the flowers. Each will be on a different layer and can be combined. You can have an edge and eyelets, and edge and flower, or an edge and eyelets and flowers. You can have the design on the top, on the bottom or on both edges. If the image/ribbon is thick enough, you can have the row of flowers doubled, if not, it will be single and centered.

You can use any straight and boring ribbon, or you can create your own using a strip of paper or a solid color with a texture.

Once the “ribbon” is done, it is up to you to use it as you wish. Make it into a frame, sew it to another element, ruffle it, tie it or knot it (with another script). Since the embroidered designs are left on separate layers, you can adjust the colors. And if you ran this script on a piece of paper, you can even remove the embroidery and just pretend you punched the paper!

You can grab this fun and creative script in my store at Creation Cassel.

If you want a chance to win this script, you can add your name to this thread in the DST forum and tell me how you could use this script BESIDE making a ribbon. Let’s be creative! I’ll be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

cass-Eyelet2-sampleI know it is a bit American holiday coming up (I see that in the numerous 4th of July), but I also know that not everybody is American, so I figured I could create some basic eyelet edges for everyone, in basic colors. This sampler will give you 5 different eyelets in 4000 pixels each.

Being more than the traditional 3600 pixels in length, you can use them at an angle and still go across a standard scrapbook page. You can also make frames out of them.

Available for FREE when you register to our mailing list HERE.

New Script – Vector Separator

cass-VectorSeparator

Did you attend the live presentation on Texting Again with PSP? We looked at how easy it was to split a word into individual letters to manipulate them separately. Someone asked a great question about adding shadows to those individual letters, and at the time, i didn’t know how to do it easily. I knew there was a way to split them but it was tedious and not convenient.

In order to accomplish what was asked, i coded this script. Not only will this script convert each letter into a shape, but it will also split them into individual vector layers that can then be manipulated at will and even converted to raster to add more effects, like shadows, textures, distortion, etc.

And if you have several vector objects (text, shape, path), and want to move them, rotate them, or otherwise manipulate them, the script can also split them into individual vector layers. This is perfect to create wordart.

You can get this time saving tool in my store atCreation Cassel.

There is also a thread HERE, where you can add your name and ANSWER the question to enter into a random draw. I will be back on Monday night with the name of a winner.

cass-SubwayArt-DAD

For this week’s freebie, with Father’s Day just around the corner, I thought of making a wordart for DAD. Using the Vector Separator, i was able to add all the words and phrases to one vector layer and then split them for easier manipulation.

You can use this wordart to make a frame, to overlay on a photo, or just print it and frame it.

The whole design is about 1800 x 1800 pixels and in png format so it can be used with just about any graphic program.

New script – Textured Papers

cass-TexturedPapers

We all know how adding texture to a plain paper can make the difference between a set of boring papers and a lively realistic result. Although most scrappers and designers know the importance of adding texture, it seems so easy to rely on our few favorite overlays and use them over and over and over again, leading to less creative results.

This script will add that variety by randomly picking overlays (between 2 and 4 per paper), rotating them randomly, layering them randomly, adding a random blend mode, and adjusting the opacity, also randomly.

Will it always give a pleasing result? Maybe not, since Paintshop Pro cannot see the result and surely, does not know your own taste, but that is not a problem since everything is left unmerged, so you can tweak all the layers, deleting some if you want, changing the blend mode, varying the opacity or even adding more overlays to the stack. One thing for sure, you will be playing with some different combinations that you might not have thought of.

The script will also rename each overlay layer to the overlay file name so you can easily refer to them if you need to reuse one or credit the source.

You can get this script in my store, at Creation Cassel.

There is a thread in the DST forum (that was added late) where you can win this script simply by telling me how many overlays you tend to use on a paper when you want to texture it. And by Monday night, i will pick a winner.

cass-Card&EnvelopeTemplates

This week, as a sampler, I am offering you a simple layered template for a card and envelope. You can use these templates for our Father’s Day contest.

The template, in PSD format, will create a card, 1200x900 pixels (so 4x3 inches), with an envelope that will match.

Use your favorite kit, designs, or supplies. Add the text you want, in the language you want.

You can use the card template to create a card in either orientation: portrait or landscape.

Sorry, the download link expired. However, you can get this set for free once you join the mailing list to get our weekly newsletter.

New script – Threaded Ribbon

cass-ThreadedRibbon1

Threading a digital ribbon on a digital paper, might not be something too hard to do, but it is tedious. If you want to accomplish this task faster and more accurately, you can do so with this script.

Choose to thread your own ribbon through slits or eyelets. You choose the number of slits or eyelets to create along with a few other options to give you a very customizable result.

You can use this script to thread ribbons to match your folded ribbons, your knot or your bow. You can use it to put a threaded ribbon on a page, to create a frame, on a photo, on the edge of a card or envelope, and more.

What would you create with this script?

You can get this time saving script in my store : Creation Cassel.

There is also a thread in the forum where you can add your name and get a chance to win this script. Check out this thread and don’t be shy!

cass-ThreadedRibbon1-sampler

For this week’s sample, I created this fun card for Mother’s Day. You can use it in one layout about your mom or another important mother in your life.

The ribbon was threaded using the script. The vertical threading was made by first rotating the whole project by 90 degrees since the script will only work on a horizontal ribbon.

The detailed edge was made using the Edge font along a vector path. Isn’t that neat?

This card is in PNG format so just about anyone can use it.

New script – Card & Envelope

cass-Card&Envelope

This week, i decided to offer something for our hybrid crafters friends. A while ago, i coded a script that would allow the user to create a custom size/shape gift card box and it was very popular for the holiday season when people often give away gift cards. That is when some users asked me to create other scripts to make hybrid projects. So here is one for you.

This script will NOT create the cards but will create the template for a card AND an envelope that you can then personalize. You choose the size and the flap design and the script will create what you need. Everything is left in separate layers so you can colorize or customize each section separately if you want, whether it is the flap for the envelope, or the front of the card only.

You can create tiny cards as small as 300 x 300 pixels (perfect for little notes, Advent calendars or other) or regular size ones up to 1800 x 1200 pixels. One neat feature of this script is that the maximum size template can still be printed on a regular home printer: no need for extra wide (and costly) printer or having to go to a print shop for it.

This script allows you to create a perfectly sized envelope if you crafted a custom card with your scrapbooking supplies or other. And of course, you can still add traditional 3d decorations to the printed card! Or you can just create blank templates and use them as base for your traditional card making.

Since this is really a TOOL script, you can use it to create CU products.

You can get this convenient script in my store: Creation Cassel

You can also win this script by adding your name and tell me for which occasion you are most likely to use this script in this thread in the DST forum. I will be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

cass-Card&Envelope-sampleAs a sample of what this week’s script can do, i created a card for you. It has no text so you can include your own personal note and wish, in any language you want, on the computer or by hand.

It has one folding card and a matching envelope that are 1200 x 900 pixels. Not a big card, but just something you can give a friend, your mom, your colleague, etc.

I used a FREE kit called “Doux Bruisssements”. This is only one of a series of free kits that are offered on that blog. They have one every month. It is definitely worth checking out that French site!

Once you download the files, you can just add something on top of the card and print both the card and the envelope, cut them, fold them and add something inside the card for whoever you want to give the card to.

And voilà, you have a perfectly matching card and envelope.

New script – Fill’n Match

cass-FillnMatch

More and more designers like to incorporate matching tags, or cards or other elements into their kit. More and more scrappers like to have something matching the kit they purchased or the layout they are making but might be missing those elements. To do them by hand is ok if you only have a couple to do, but what if you need a whole set? That can quickly become a long task.

With this script, you can start with any simple template (simple works best), choose any number of papers to pick from, select colors from your color palette and let it do its magic. You can generate up to 10 copies of the basic template, using a randomly picked paper and randomly picked color.

And all that can take you less than one minute to accomplish. Of course, the script does not have a good eye for color combinations so you might very well end up with ugly matches, but it is not a big deal: just delete those and keep the ones that ended up as great combos.

You will determine which layers will be replaced by papers, which ones will be replaced by a color and the script will leave all the other layers untouched. Since all the resulting elements will be left in layers just like the starting template, you can still tweak any one of them as you want.

You can grab this time saving script in my store: Creation Cassel

cass-FillnMatch-sample-tagsDo you want a chance to win this script? You can do so by adding your name to this thread in the DST forum and give me more ideas on how you could use such a script. I will come back on Monday night with the name of a winner. Remember that even if you purchase the script, you can still enter the draw and if your name comes up, you will be able to get a coupon for a future new release.

For a free sample, i prepared a set of 9 tags (900x600) all made using the same kit from Karenheckyeah called “A summer Place”. You can use those tags for a “Project Life” type of layout since it makes those tags 3x2 inches, or you can use them in other traditional types of layout. It is really up to you.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

It is still April!

New script – Distribute Rasters

cass-DistributeRasters

Do you sometimes have various elements, like flowers, beads, or even frames that you would like to have evenly distributed? In PSPX4 and X5, there is a function like that but if you are using an older version, the only way you can do it is using the guidelines and measuring the spacing yourself and then finding the center of each object to move them accurately.

That is a bit of work that you can avoid with this script. In fact it will take it just a few seconds to accomplish what might take you a few minutes.

In addition, this script can also distribute elements evenly on a diagonal line, based on the width and the height of the image. Even PSPX4 and X5 don’t do that!

If your elements are the same size, the spacing will probably be pretty even, but if the elements are of different size, don’t count on the spacing as the script measures by the center of each element.

Unfortunately, it is only compatible with PSP9 and up (sorry for the PSP8 users out there).

You can get this script in my store: Creation Cassel.

I also have a giveaway in the DST forum. Simply tell me, in this thread, what PSP version you are using and your name will be entered in the random draw for Monday night.

cass-PipeCleaner-sample-bunnyJust like last week, it is kind of hard to give you a sample of a tool script, so i opted for giving you a spring element (or Easter theme, if you prefer). I made this bunny out of the pipe cleaner picture tubes from the store. This is a PNG format element about 1500 pixels high. I added some fun shadows to give it some volume and the shadows are part of the element.

Those pipe cleaners are so much fun to play with. Just like the real 3D ones you can bend and twist, you can do just the same thing with your mouse. You even have the advantage of being able to make them much longer than the real ones!

They were Mendy’s idea and here is what she said about them:

“This one [product] is so much fun. Makes you feel like you are a kid again. They are so real looking that you just want to reach out and touch them. Love it!”

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

April is near

Yes, yes, i told you that last week, didn’t i? And i am sure you know it is only a couple of days away. But did you figure out what it will be about? Did you guess from the hints? Let’s add a bit to the list:

Hint #1: get your wishlist ready (i really mean it!)

Hint #2: check the Master Classes in the Campus (watch the video for the free one or any other you might have purchased)

Hint #3: get ready to scrap

Hint #4: FF often stands for Firefox, but for something else too!

Hint #5: something will happen on “school ground” too

See you soon! I think there might be something more in the Newsletter, Sunday morning.

New script – Letter Tiles

cass-LetterTiles

Do you like a game of Scrabble®? This script will let you create letter tiles as if you were playing the game, but with more variety than what you would get by scanning and extracting the actual letter tiles.

You can create wooden tiles, in 5 different types of wood, but you can also use other support, whether it is a solid color, or a pattern.

The script is coded to offer you the option of creating the letter tiles with values based on the French, English, Spanish or German version of the Scrabble® game, since the values are slightly different from one version to the other.

You can also choose any font you want, and any color you want too. Unlike the traditional Scrabble® game, you can also have numbers, punctuation symbols or any other design by choosing the custom option. In that option, you can decide yourself the value of the tile. Of course, you can also create blank tiles if you want.

The script is coded in a way to generate slightly different background for every tile (except for the solid color ones), so it is more realistic. You can create one letter at the time, or type in a word, a phrase or the whole alphabet and the script will generate one tile per letter, including any blank for spaces.

You can grab this fun script in the store: Creation Cassel.

In addition, there is a thread in the Happy Place where you can tell me what language you would use to base the value of the tiles. And i will be back on Monday night with the name of a winner.

cass-LetterTiles-sampleOf course, you can use those letter tiles to create a title on a layout, or maybe a wordart too, but for a sample, i created a frame for you. It is a PNG format so you don’t have to have PSP as a graphic program. It is about 2100 pixels high. Of course, you can always resize it down if needed. the shadows are already placed on the whole montage.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

What will you do with this frame? Will you show us your masterpiece?

New products – Lined Papers

cass-LinedPapers

Do you see those Photoshop styles everywhere and wish you could use them in Paintshop Pro? This time, I created a set of 9 lined paper seamless tiles that you can use as you wish from the Material palette, but it also has 9 sculpture presets that you can use to apply to a solid color shape (any shape) with predetermined settings (that is why they are preset, right?)

Since the tiles are seamless, you can use them to floodfill any shape of any size. Of course, you can manipulate them further by adding some writing, doodling, stains, creases, tears, and more. You can colorize them to tint them in a color to match your photo, your layout or your kit.

The patterns and the presets are inside folders and if you save the whole folders (instead of the individual files), you will have them all neatly sorted and available inside a Category you can pick in the Presets or the Material. No more need to scroll endlessly, especially if you have lots of those in your resources.

Although they are not in .asl format, Photoshop users can easily convert the patterns which are simply in jpg format.

You can get this set of 9 patterns and presets in my store: Creation Cassel.

If you want a chance to get this set for free, hop over to the Happy Place in this thread and tell me what else than writing on, would you use lined papers in a layout. I will pick a winner on Monday night.

cass-LinedPaper-SampleThis week, as a sample for this product, i am offering you one tile with one preset (for PSP) and one full size page for everyone else (of course, PSP users can still use it). Do you remember that time when dark papers were popular and kids would use gel pens in neon colors to write on them? Now you can do the same. The tile and the presets work exactly as the lined paper tiles above.

Jennifer had fun playing with this paper sample and added some doodling.

If you are curious to know how the ripped edge was made, i can tell you my secret: it is a font. I used the RippedEdge font that you can use to create any paper edge that will look ripped from a spiral binding, whether it is from the top or the side. You can find that font in my store HERE.

Do you want to do the same? Simply click on the preview to start downloading the tile, the preset and the full page.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

cass-OpenACopyDid you miss my post last week? Probably, because i skipped last week. Why? Because i felt bad not to have a freebie for you to download. Last week, i released a tool-script that will open, duplicate, save the duplicate with a new name (adding –copy to its name) and closing the original. All that, so that the Auto-save function can actually save your work and spare your original from accidental auto-save. It is still available in the store and it is FREE.

Of course, you can do the same steps manually, but you want to do something else than those tedious technical tasks, don’t you? In addition, if you bind the script and add the icon on your menu bar, you can get the whole process in ONE click. That beats doing it manually doesn’t it?
