New font – Banner Shapes B

Not only can you use this font to create banners hanging from a string, but you can also have combinations of colors with the thick and thin trim options. Use one, or both trims to match the colors to your photo, your project, or your school colors!

Create banners as long as you want. Add text afterward or leave them blank for just a touch of color.

For a sampler, I created a simple string of 12 banners that are left in layers (string, banners, trims) that you can colorize however you want to suit your project. The file is in .pspimage format and compatible with all PaintShop Pro versions.

New font – Decorative Stitches 2

You might already be familiar with dingbats, but very few fonts will replicate machine stitching. The Creation Cassel store is the only place where you can find those fonts. This time around, I created another set of 50 different stitches that you can add to your arsenal.

The zip file includes two versions of each of the stitches: one with clean edges and one with irregular edges.

For a sampler, I created a simple rectangular 7x5 inches frame made from a decorative (and basic) stitch. They are in greyscale, so you can colorize it however you want to match your project. Then, add a texture, a bevel, and a shadow to create that 3D effect. Showcase a photo or some text inside it.

New font – Two-Tone Stitch 2

Two-tone stitch layered fontA new font has been added to the store. This time, it will allow you to use two colors of threads if you want, or simply showcase the layered effect of the stitches with the bevel and shadow.

Use those stitches in a straight line (like most "text") or along a path, like you would add "text on a path". You can choose any size: it won't be blurred or pixelated since it will be a vector. All the measuring is done for you so that the two layers will perfectly align.

New font – Two-Tone Stitch 1

Two Tone stitching fontFinally, a new font in the store. This time, it will allow you to use two colors of threads if you want, or simply showcase the layered effect of the stitches with the bevel and shadow.

New font – Edge font #2

Edge fontDo you want to add a fun edge around your element? Brushes might be one option but you can't combine brush strokes. However, with a font, you can alternate characters as you want to create unique designs.

If you can add text on a path, you can add a decorative edge on that path too.

Adjust the color, the size, the kerning, the offset, just like you would do with any font.

Remember that you can use this font in any graphic program that can use outside fonts.

Not all designs are visible on the preview.

Edge font mats in png formatDo you want a closer look at these edges? I created 2 mats edged with some characters from this font. One is a rounded square and one is a circle. You can colorize those mats, or if you lock the transparency, you can "paint" on them, even with a paper!

You can obviously resize them as you need.

New font – Lace Edge #6

Lace Edge fontSometimes, you want to add some edges around a shape or on the edge of a ribbon but you are tired of using the same templates over and over again, and not having the flexibility to create the shape you want.

This product is a FONT, meaning that it will behave like text, but display as decorative edges. You can use it on any graphic program that allows outside fonts.

You can also have the font follow a path if your program allows it. This means that you can create decorative edges on a circle, an oval, a square, a rectangle or any other shape you want, if your program can add "text on path".

Unlike brushes, you have the option to combine different "characters", and alternate them. You can also change the size, the color, the kerning, the offset, etc. And since it is a vector, you can use it as big as your program allows, and you won't have any pixellated edges.

This font includes 25 different shapes that are delicate and "open" and 25 matching shapes with more "opaque" look. You can combine and alternate both if you want for a fun look. The font also includes 10 "fillers" that are smaller shapes you can insert between larger shapes, or use them on their own.

Grab this font in the store: Lace Edge #6

If you want more lace edges, you can also have the Lace Edge #2, which also has large designs, or the Lace Edge #3 and Lace Edge #4 that have smaller designs.

Would you like to win this font? In the comments below, tell me what element you would like to create with it. I'll pick up a winner and announce it next week, in the newsletter. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Lace Edge frame and matTo help you get a feel of what these edges can look like, i created a frame and matching mat using one character of the font along a vector path. Very simple.

Use them as is, in white, or colorize them to match your project. Each one is about 2000x2000 pixels in size.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

Remember to show us what you do with those elements. We surely want to see.

New Font – Satin Stitch Font

cass-SatinStitchFont

If you want to use a stitched font, you might be quite limited in finding some ready made alpha, that has one style, one color, and you can maybe colorize it.

Another option is to find a font that has those stitches, but it will not give you the overlapping effect that real stitching would have.

Yet, another option is to do it yourself; NOT convenient, and quite tedious.

Finally, this font is what you were looking for. In fact, you get TWO fonts, and each one will be a layer of stitching, so you can have that exact overlap that you are looking for.

Since it is a font, it can work in most graphic programs, like Paintshop Pro, Photoshop, Photoshop Element, GIMP and more.

And as a font, you can choose the color, the size, the kerning, and if your program allows it, you can even put the text along a path! That would not be easy if you had just a regular ready-made alpha, would it?

You can grab this font in the store as Satin Stitch Font.

Do you want a chance to win this font? Add a comment below, telling me what program you would likely use this font with. I’ll be announcing the winner in next week’s newsletter. Not subscribed to the newsletter yet? Not a problem, you can register here.

cass-SatinStitchFont-LOVEAs a sample, i figured i could do a little combination of the font and something else. I used the font for the letters in this one, but for the heart, i used a regular preset shape and ran the VectorPaint script on it, using a narrow rectangular brush tip.

It is really simple to do, and you can do the same thing. It would be fun to use in creating wordart too.

New font – Lace Edge #4

cass-LaceEdge4

Adding edges with a brush or a picture tube is kind of great for Paintshop Pro users, but then, other program users can’t take advantage of the same tool. This is a FONT, so it can be used by most graphic programs, whether it is PSP, or Photoshop, or Photoshop Element, or Gimp, or other programs that can use outside fonts.

Since these are fonts, they can be used and manipulated just like text: change color, size, kerning, follow a path, reverse a path, etc.

With this font, you get 25 different designs that you can use for edging, stitching, or various designs. Use them on papers, frames, mats, ribbons. Why not even trim photos as if they were laser cut. That would look awesome, wouldn’t it?

You can get this Lace Edge #4 FONT, in my store.

And if you want a chance to win this font, hop over to the DST forum HERE, and tell me what program you would use this font with (maybe you are using a program that is new to me?). I’ll be back next week with the name of a winner.

cass-LaceEdge4-samplesThis week, i created 3 decorated mat templates. You can use them to cut out your favourite paper, or simply to color. You can also layer them with other simple shapes since those are very simple to start with.

I just made the rectangle and round mats (the brown and the green) starting with a vector shape and added the font like text on path.

For the square one (the yellow), i simply created a long strip of one character (the letter b) for about 900 pixels long, then ran the Mitered Corner Frame script to get a perfect corner (and it looks great, don’t you think?). I am also including the straight row of “lace” so you can use it to create any matching element you want, whether it is a frame, a ribbon, or to make a stitching row.

Font and bundle

cass-SewingMachineFont

Last week, i released a sewing machine font and i got a request to have a matching “hole” font. I didn’t think, initially, that anyone would want the holes too but i was obviously wrong. So, thanks to Wendy’s request, i am now offering the matching “hole” font with the “stitching” font. You get two fonts in one zip.

You can use the “hole” font on its own if you want, or add it to the “stitching”. They are perfectly matching. Use black or grey holes, or use a blending mode to make them fade in the background. Do whatever you need to make it as realistic as possible.

You can get this Sewing Machine Font in the store.

(if you already purchased the Sewing Machine Font, go back and download the newer zip file which will contain the “hole” font).

cass-StitchingFonts-bundleWhile we are in a stitching mood, i bundled up the most popular fonts of my store: the Stitching fonts. Those are the first font i created and they were (and still are) extremely popular especially since they can be used by most graphic programs. There is the basic stitches font and the decorative stitches font. You can use them in so many different ways, i cannot name them all. Use them on a straight line to stitch something, or use them on a path to simulate various types of decorative stitching.

Since they are fonts, you have the opportunity to combine 2 or more characters/stitches to make fun combinations. You can choose the colors, size, kerning, and more, depending on your program.

Although you can get them separately (the Basic and the Decorative), i have bundled them together for you for a discounted price AND it is also on special this weekend. Go grab this Stitching Fonts bundle as soon as you can.

This week, you have the chance to win this bundle of 100 stitches by adding your name to this thread in the DST forum.

cass-SewingFont-sample-tagsAs a sample, this week, i created a set of simple fabric tags with the years. They are in layered PSD format so the tag, the stitching on top and the shadow are on different layers. This should allow you to colorize the tags and the stitching without affecting the shadow and you can also add your own shadow if you need to rotate the tags.

What would you do with those tags? They would be great to add a fun date to your layouts.

To create those tags, i obviously used the Sewing Machine font, but also the Clothes Tag script. Those two are a fantastic combo!

Enjoy.

New Font – Sewing Machine Font

cass-SewingMachineFont

It is always fun to have some stitched text but sewing it, scanning it and extracting it is too much work for most (including me), so i created this font somewhat from my own handwriting.

Being a script font, it is a bit more work to get the letters to attach together properly but i think this one will become one of your favorite. If some letters don’t perfectly attach, you can just blame it on the machine!

The font includes lower case, upper case, digits, punctuation and several accented characters too.

Since this is a font, it is useable with Paintshop Pro, Photoshop, Photoshop Element and probably other programs, as long as they can use outside fonts.

You can grab this font in the store, at Creation Cassel.

You have a chance to win this font by just adding your name to this thread in the forum and tell me what program you are using. Remember that it can be used with probably all graphic programs. I will be back on Monday with the name of a winner (send your friends over too!).

cass-SewingMachineFont-sample

This week, i sent the font to my CT members and Jessica created those fun stitched labels. They are huge in size so you can size them down to just about anything you need.

With such a font, you can surely think of other types of labels you could create or text to write.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

This font will work particularly well with the other Stitches fonts like the Basic Stitches or the Decorative Stitches if you have a craft or a sewing theme layout. Or, how about combining text with this font and the Clothes Label script? This is a combo made in heaven!
