New Script – Stack’n Cluster

cass-StacknCluster

If you like the result of stacked papers and clustered elements but do not like the time involved in the copying, pasting, resizing, rotating, moving, in addition to the opening and closing of the files, you will LOVE this script. Created for Paintshop Pro scrappers and designers, you can use this script to save you a lot of time. The script is coded to go grab the papers directly into the folder you will indicate; no need to open all those papers and slow down your program. You choose the different options (how many papers you want, how much rotation you want, where you want the stack to be visibly overlapping, etc.) And the script goes with that. If you are not happy, the script will redo it, as often as you want. With a random command integrated in the script, you will never get the same result twice, even if you run it 50 times. Then, if you want to add elements to create a cluster, you just have to open the individual files, tell the script how many copies of each you want and where you want them, and the rest is like watching a movie: sit and enjoy. The script will NOT replace your creativity as it will only do the tedious part, the “technical” repetitive part, but it will NOT know how to place the papers and elements harmoniously. That is YOUR task as a designer or a scrapper. YOU have the final word. You can delete some of the elements, move them, resize them again, add other elements, etc. But it will take you much less time than doing it all manually, i promise!

You can grab this script in either of my stores: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse (always on special until Sunday night).

And if you want a chance to win it, go add your name to the Happy Place thread at DST here. I will announce a winner on Monday night.

Bernadette Hunt tried this script and here is what she did with it:

cass-StacknCluster_05  cass-StacknCluster_06

She said it took her a whole 17 minutes to do them instead of an hour or more to get all those papers and elements ready into the layouts. Talk about a time saver!

cass-DecoStitch-Frame01 And now, as usual, you want to see my products in action. Since this week’s script is a tool and i cannot really give you a sample, i thought you might want to play with some frames. This is a layered frame (because it includes 4 individual layers) in PSD format. You can use each frame separately, or in combination. They were made using the Decorative Stitches FONT. Yes, they are made using a FONT, not a brush (although i have them in brush format). This font (and all the others in my store) can be used with most graphic programs, as long as they can use outside fonts. And if your program can do text along a path, it can do stitching along a path too. Isn’t that great? Anyhow, start playing with this frame and since it is in greyscale, you can color it as you wish.

New script – Dimension

cass-Dimension

How would you like to add some depth to any shape you want with Paintshop Pro? No need for a filter or outside tool: this script will give you many options so you can create a 3D element starting with any shape. You can use any shape, drawing, letter, words, in just about any size although tiny shapes will not work well. You will get 5 options for the edge color: the same color as the top, a lighter shade, a darker shade, a greyscale version or a totally different color. One particularity of this script is that it will give a “shaded” look on the edges, changing them slightly depending on how they face an imaginary light on the top left of the element (if your layout implies a light coming from a different source, just mirror or flip the element to match).

You can add a thickness as small as 10 pixels or as large as 100 pixels, and you can also have the extrusion in 8 different directions.

You can use this script to create many different elements, alphas, wordarts, and probably more.

Grab this script in either one of my stores: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

Try running the script several times on the same shape, with different colors or different thickness. It can look like a layered jello or an ice cream sandwich! Or how about running it several times with different directions or alternating left and right and left and right!

If you want to give other suggestions for using this script, you will get a chance to win it. Just post in this thread at the DST forum.cass-Dimension-Digits

And how about this layered set of digits made using this script? With the blue, white and red, it can certainly match any American celebrations (July 4th) or our French cousins (July 14th) or Acadian friends (August 15th). This script will give you so many possibilities!

New script – Alpha Layer Stacker

cass-AlphaFileStacker

Last week, I released a script that would take layered alpha and create title or text in just a few seconds, but creating a layered alpha was still a tedious task you had to do by hand, especially if you had an alpha in individual files. Now, this script will do that tedious work for you. This script will retrieve all the similar files in a folder you will indicate and all the files will be layered. Since you will be asked to name each layer as it is created (either with a lowercase, an uppercase, a digit or a symbol), you will be certain that the Text Creator script will now work in just a few seconds. Once you have your layered alpha, simply save it in psp or psd format.

Designers, you might want to offer your alphas in single sheet, individual files, and now, in layered format. The PSP users will thank you for that!

You can get this script in either one of my stores: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

As usual, there is one way you can enter a draw to win this script. Check out the RAK thread here, in the DST forum and simply add your name there, and answer the little question.

cass-WordAlbum-DAD This weekend, it is Father’s Day on this side of the Atlantic. I dont know about other countries, in Europe or in Australia. But if it is not the time to celebrate Father’s Day, you can still get ready for next time you want to thank a man in your life for what he brought. This layered “album” can be used to create a hybrid photo album, or, if only printed, cut out and glued on cardboard, it can make a great card where all the children or other people touched by that special man can write good wishes, kids can stamp their hand or doodle for a great memorabilia. The album is about 12 inches long on separate layers (you surely can resize if you want a smaller version).

As i am developing more and more content in the Campus for scrapbookers and PSP users, i want YOUR opinion on what you feel is really important for a “course” or a Campus. Please, go over this survey and answer the 3 short questions. I already got some great suggestions that i will implement so maybe your idea will be done too, who knows? If you have any PSP friends, share the link with them. More answers and suggestions will help get a better Campus for you.

New script – Text Creator

First of all, i am glad to be back online full force. Some of you might know that i had computer issues that started a couple of weeks ago. Although i thought it might be malware related, my computer was tested and found to be free of “unwanted visitors”. More testing indicated that i had a failing hard drive. Before it failed completely, i was able to get it replaced, so now, i am ready to go on. Although i didn’t loose any data, everything was already backed up so i didn’t feel like panicking!

cass-TextCreator

Someone emailed me a couple of months ago with a suggestion for a script. She asked “I would love to see a script that will place all the letters from an alpha into a title. Do you think it would be a good idea?” I had to answer “Yes, it is such a good idea that someone already made something just like that… for Photoshop.” and i refered her to Anna Forrest’s script for Photoshop, but of course, my customer wanted something for Paintshop! Since programs cannot READ alphas per say, i had to use a different approach, which took a bit longer than i thought, but now, it is here.

This script will create your title or text using any alpha you want to use. The only prerequisite is that the alpha has to be on a layered image with each layer identified for what they contain. You will simply have to enter the text you want, and the script will retrieve each letter, in order, copy it, paste it onto your work, and move it so all the letter are more or less spaced evenly. The script will take into considerations if you have a space between words. If you enter a character in the text that is not in the file (for example, a “.” or a bracket), the script will skip over it, replace it by a space, and let you know, at the end that you have one character missing (if you have more than one, it will tell you exactly how many). Also, the script will differentiate between lowercase and uppercase letters.

You think this is cool so far? But there is more! If you have a large alpha and you want to create a long title, it is possible that your text would end up being too long for the width of the work canvas you. Did this ever happen to you? This script will help you avoid this frustration because it will give you two options: you can use a shorter text (and run the script twice), or resize the alpha, and here is the smart part of it: the script will tell you what percent to resize your alpha. So, if you want to resize it, you will KNOW that you will then be able to use the same text and it WILL fit on your page!

You want to see this script in action? check this out:

You can get this script in my stores: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.
And how about a chance to win this script? Easy. Just add your name to the RAK thread in the Happy Place here, and tell me why you like (or dislike) using alphas. I will draw a winner on Monday night.
If you do not have layered alphas, you can make your own version using any single sheet alpha in png format, using the Element Stacker script. This will help with the process. If you are a scrapper, use the single sheet alphas that you already have. If you are a designer, you might want to offer layered alphas as one option for your customers.

How about a freebie this week? Where is it? Well, it is going to be a special freebie since i will distribute it in the newsletter, this Sunday (June 12th). It will be a FREE script, called Quick Tab. Can you guess what it will be? It is not in the store yet, and will only be there AFTER the newsletter is issued. And you will have a limited time to grab it from the newsletter too. So, if you have already subscribed to the newsletter, just keep an eye on it Sunday. If you have not yet subscribed to it, you still have time. The newsletter usually goes out in the morning, at 8 am Eastern time. You need to register? you can do it HERE. Do you have friends who use Paintshop Pro too? Send them to register too!

New script – Knot #5

cass-Knot5

Do you have some ribbons you would like to tie? Do you want to use the ends of the ribbon as if it were REALLY tied, instead of drawn? This script will do just that. This script for Paintshop Pro will use YOUR ribbon, and “use” pieces as if it were a real ribbon. If you use a ribbon with a gradient or a directional pattern, you will see the pattern follow the ribbon, through the knot and into the loose ends. Like most of the knot scripts in the store, it ends in unmerged layers so you can insert something in the knot for more customizability.

If you do not have a ribbon to use for this script, you can create one from scratch at the first prompt. You will then get a ribbed ribbon in the color of your choice.

You can get this script in my store: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

You have a chance to win this script (or a future new release if you have purchased it already) in this RAK thread of the DST forum. To enter, simply tell me if you own any of my other knot scripts. And come back on Monday night to see who won.

cass-Knot5-sample

As usual, i made a sample for you to enjoy. You can grab this combo of a flat straight ribbon and matching knotted ribbon. Use them as is, or recolor them. Wrap the straight ribbon around a frame using the Quick Wrap script and add the knot to it if you want, or run the ribbon through any other knot script to add to your layout.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

********************************************************************

Now, this week i have a little something else to share with you. As i was doing some research for the Campus addressing the use of sketches or templates as a source of inspiration for digital scrap layouts, i came across a HUGE resource. I know that templates have become “in fashion” lately, but this book includes 500 sketches to jump start your inspiration. I LOVE templates, but i tend to use them most often as 500ss2sketches instead of using the layered version, so seeing so many sketches in ONE file will definitely be a time saver too. And considering that you can always rotate, flip, mirror a sketch, you can get 2000 variations and then, you can add elements, subtract some, and replace others. If you are following that, you can get the equivalent of over 5000 starting point for your layouts. That is right, FIVE THOUSAND possible ideas. Now… you should not run out of ideas soon!

Just click on the preview to get it. You will adore it (i bought it too, and will be delighted to show you my pages!)

New Script – Quick Wrap

cass-QuickWrap

Do you sometimes want to wrap an element with a ribbon for a dramatic look? To achieve that result, you probably do it the long way: cutting a piece of ribbon, copying, pasting, moving, rotating, trimming, shading and then, onto the next piece. If you want only a couple of pieces, it might be a reasonable process but if you want 10 pieces, or if you want to use 2 different ribbons, then, it can become very tedious. This script for Paintshop Pro, will go through that process in less than one minute for you.

With this script, you are not limited to use one kind of frame, or one kind of ribbon. You can use ANY element to be wrapped, be it a frame, a photo, a tag, and you can use ANY ribbon or lace you want, as long as it is the correct length for the script to run smoothly. Then, you can choose how many “wraps” you want (from 3 to 10), and you can also choose to add a shadow to each of the layers (remember, you might have a few there!), with your choice of settings. In the end, the result will be on separate, but linked layers.

So, what do you think of such a script? You can get this script in my stores: CreationCassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

If you want a chance to win this script free, just add your name to this RAK thread in the DST forum and tell me what you would wrap with this script. I will pick a winner Monday night.

cass-QuickWrap-sample As usual, you surely want to have a closer look at what the script can do. So, as usual, i have a sampler for you. I created this wrapped frame from scratch. The ribbon uses a lace from Buzy Bee Scrap (i cannot find a valid link for her blog for now so if you have one, please, let me know). Not only the wraps were made using the Quick Wrap script, but i also added, manually, one piece made using the Knot #3 script.

The frame is a PNG format so just about anyone can use it. In addition, i am providing the straight ribbon so you can match it in your layout, or use it to make a bow or a knot or even to wrap other elements if you want!

REMINDER

Did you get a discount coupon from the April promotion i had in the store? Remember that this coupon is only valid in May 2011! You have just over a week left to use it! You better start shopping!

New script – Knot #3

cass-Knot3

Do you sometimes wish you could tie your digital ribbon? Do you like to have ribbons wrapped around an element but would like to use your own ribbon and not one already made? This will be the perfect script for you. If you can use Paintshop Pro, you can get great knots using any ribbon you already have. Start with a ribbon that is 2000x150 pixels and you end up with a tied ribbon. The script can create a ribbon for you if you dont have one already made. You can use any kind of ribbon: opaque, translucent, eyelets, even ribbons with a directional design. If you want to have some fancy details on the ends, like beads or serrated edges, the script can keep them intact for you, or can trim the ends like a traditional knot. The end result will be left unmerged so you can insert decorative elements in the middle if you want. Of course, you can merge them all if you prefer.

You can get this script in my stores: Creation Cassel, and DigiScrapWarehouse.

You can go add your name to the RAK thread in the DST forum here, if you want a chance to win this fantastic script.

cass-Knot3-sample

I am sure you would love to see the result of this script up close. I created this set for you. I used the  Eyelet script to create a ribbon, and then, the Knot #3 script to turn it into a tied ribbon. It is in PNG format so most scrappers can use it. You get both in the zip.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

New Script – Cookie Cutter

cass-CookieCutter

You know how cookie cutters are used to cut out cookies always in the same shape, of the same size out of cookie dough. This script for Paintshop Pro will do just about the same thing (without the dough). Unlike actual physical cookie cutters, you can use ANY SHAPE you want. You can use circles, rectangles, hearts, stars, arrows, spirals, ovals, frames, etc.

And more than choosing the shape, you can use any paper you have, colored or not, textured or not, big or small, from your stash or your kit. You can choose 1, 2, 10 papers, or how many your computer can handle open at once. The script will cut out the same shape, with some options of whether you want always the same size or slightly different, but it will cut from different sections of the papers every time. This means that even if you were to get 10 shapes from the same paper, the end result would be 10 different pieces. Isn’t this great?

Now, what can you do with so many little pieces of papers? You can create clusters, strings, mosaic, borders, patchworks, and probably more.

You can get this script in both of my stores: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

cass-CookieCutter-sampleAnd why not try to get it for free too? Check this thread in the DST forum, add your name and wait for Monday night.

I am sure you would love to see something made with this script. Initially, i was wondering what i could make as a sampler, since this is mostly at TOOL script and useable with your own papers, but i found some textures i scanned a while ago and used just as texture, so i used those “images”, colored them in red/pink shades and used a heart shape to run the Cookie Cutter script. Once done, i simply aligned the hearts, mirrored some of them and added some bead tubes i had. I think it looks cool, dont you? This string is 4000 pixels long so you can size it down a bit if you want.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

Do you want to see something else made with this script? Suzy, who was the one who suggested this idea made this layout using the kit Chatterbox from Sandra of Studio 68. Click on the image to reach my gallery where she posted it, so you can give her some love. How long do you think it would have taken to cut out all those circles?

cass-CookieCutter_01

New script – Mask’n Ink

cass-MasknInk

You can now create a masked and inked shape or text in seconds. This script will let you add fun titles, wordarts, frames, or accents to your scrapbooking kits or layouts. Choose any color you want, and you can also decide to have thin, medium, large or very large brush strokes. There is a random feature integrated into the script so you can run it several times and always get something slightly different. You can also run it twice, with different thickness and different colors, on the same shape for an interesting effect. Only works with Paintshop Pro.

You can get this script in either one of my stores: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

And how about a chance to get it for free? Just add your name to this thread in the DST forum and tell me what you can think you could use this script for. And a winner will be picked Monday night.

cass-MasknInk I have a little sample (actually TWO samples) made with this script. They are about 900 pixels wide and in greyscale so you can colorize them to suit your kit or your layout. They are in PNG format so you can use them in most graphic programs.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

New script – Layered Pyramid

cass-Pyramid

Are you into hybrid projects? This script will be perfect for you to speed up the process. It will create a various number of layers in the shape you want, and centered or off-centered, focussing on an element of your photo.

You will have many options to choose from: the number of layers, the shape, the centering, the shadow, the placement of the off-centered layer. You can use the script on any photo and use it on a digital layout, like any other scrapbooking project, or print the layers separately and then cut them one by one to create a hybrid montage.

You can get this script in either one of my stores: Creation Cassel and DigiScrapWarehouse.

Here is a card that was made by ooh-la-la-creation using this script. Isn’t this great?

cass-Pyramid-04

cass-Pyramid-TemplateIf you want a chance to win this script, check out this thread in the DST forum, and tell me if you ever made a hybrid project with your digi supplies.

And how about a little freebie? I created this layered template loosely based on the card made above. It is a layered template in PSD format so most graphic program can open it. It is 5x7 in size.
