New script – Bread #2

Bread slices script for PaintShop ProSummer is coming and the thought of fresh sandwiches is on everyone's mind. Although you can have a family barbecue (and use the Hamburger script), you can create slices of bread in various shapes with this script. You can choose between 4 types of bread: white, whole wheat, rye and multigrain. So there is something for everyone in the family.

In addition, you can choose to have a thick or thin slice, since everyone's preference is different.

Slices of bread in the shape of digitsAs a sample, I created a set of slices in the shape of digits. You can use them to add a title, possibly for the photos of your annual family picnic. Each digit is in png format and quite large so you can easily size them down as needed.

New script – Extrusion

Extrusion script for PaintShop ProYou can add dimension and perspective to any design, element, shape or text.

You choose how thick you want the extrusion and in what direction.

The top layer and the side layers are left unmerged so you can have the opportunity to tweak them separately if you want.

New script – Dirt Texture

Dirt Texture script for PaintShop ProWe might sometimes, want to showcase some photos of messy kids (ours or even ourselves).  What better way than have a "dirty" element, complete with a splash of mud on the side?

This script will turn any shape into a splash of dirt or mud and you will even get a different look every time so you can run the script on the same shape multiple times to get a variety of results.

New tubes – Variegated Strings

It might be fairly easy to find single color tubes to create a string. In fact, there is one that comes (or came) by default with PaintShop Pro. Strings with two colors can also be found (in the store) but they are much less common. But for variegated strings or ropes, this one is a first as far as I know.

As you draw with these tubes, the colors will change as if you were using traditional variegated wool to knit a project.

For a sampler, I created a rainbow element that you can use with your projects and a frame using several colors of those variegated tubes. Each element is in PNG format.

New script – Framed Mask

PaintShop Pro script to create layered framed maskI have seen various masks made from apparent chaos of random frames while allowing the display of a single photo through all those frames. I knew how to create those manually, but figured it would be simpler for PSP users to have a tool to do all the work for them.

This script will allow you to either start with a "blank" project where all the frames will cover the center area of a full-size 3600x3600 image or use an existing photo, sized and placed in a specific location of the project and have the script create the frames over that photo. The options are numerous as you can create between 1 and 36 frames to cover that area. In the end, you get a layered template with a Mask group where you can just put your photo. No measuring, no drawing.

Layered template in .pspimage formatAs a sample, I am giving you the same template created in the preview. It has unmerged layers so you can add shadows on the frames if you want, you can merge them all before adding shadows or add them individually. You can also change the frame colors, add a bevel, or tweak them as you wish.

What will you do with that?? I hope you show off your project.

New script – Heart Candies

Heart Shaped Candies script for PaintShop ProNow, you can create as many heart-shaped candies as you want, in any color you want. And they will also have random saying on them. With additional random features integrated into the code, each candy will likely be slightly different from each other.

Choose the color (or maybe a gradient?) to match your project or your photo.

New script – Dated

Dated script for PaintShop Pro to add EXIF date to a photoSome cameras will automatically add a date on your photo and often, you might want to remove those dates to concentrate on the photo itself. However, in other situations, adding a date might be needed. If your camera took the photo while saving the EXIF information, this script will retrieve that date and add it on your photo. You get to choose whether you want the date on the left or the right of the photo and in which color.

Although adding this date to a single photo is possible and quite simple, the script can also add the date on all the photos in a particular folder. In one run!

Valentine Wooden Puzzle for PaintShop ProAs a sampler, I decided to play with a recent script, the Wooden Puzzle 2, to make you a Valentine theme puzzle. This is a .pspimage (so the file is fairly big) and each element is part of a group, so you can copy and paste it onto any other project, and since all the layers are unmerged, you can move the pieces around as you wish.

New script – Bargello

A Bargello pattern is made of multiple strips of fabric, cut into more strips and gradually offset from one another. All that delicate work is tedious when sewing fabric, and definitely as tedious if using a graphics program as it will involve multiple selections, cutting and moving.

With this script, the multiple steps will be automated, making the whole process faster and even more accurate than if you were to do everything manually. Start with a smooth gradient or separate strips of colors or patterns. The script will pick one of nine different patterns, randomly. In the end, you will have a seamless tile that you can use to fill any larger surface. Add a texture if you want.

Get it in the store: Bargello

The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

I created two tiles using individual patterns: one is in the red tones, which you could use for Valentine projects and one with pastel colors for a softer type of project.

Each tile is seamless. If you want a more "accented" pattern, you can resize the tile to become narrower.

New script – Bow #14

Bow script for PaintShop ProWho can say they have too many bows and ribbons? Not a scrapbooker! This script will let you tie a straight ribbon into a multi-loop bow, attached with a centerpiece. Each piece is left unmerged so you can tweak them separately if needed.

The script will also add a default drop shadow on the loops but all the shadows will also be left on separate layers so you can tweak them, adjust them or even replace them altogether.

Ribbon bows in png formatFor a sampler, this week, I used a starting ribbon from Janet Scott at Pixel Scrapper and modified it slightly (to make it straighter) and ran the script for the basic bow. Then, playing with the Hue map to change the colors from the base ribbon, I created 3 additional versions to run the script again. That will give you those 4 bows to use.

New script – Slashes and Colors

Slashes script for PaintShop ProThis new script will allow you to slash images or shapes, in addition to add colors or patterns in various ways. Use this to create templates, add colors, make a monogram, and much more.

The slashes will be done randomly, so you will always get a different result for every run, even if you are using the exact same starting image and selected options.

For a sample, I created a template made by running the script on a single plain back rectangle. This yielded this template that has random slashes. Use the Clip to It script to quickly fill those areas with your favorite photos very quickly.
