New script – Card & Envelope

cass-Card&Envelope

This week, i decided to offer something for our hybrid crafters friends. A while ago, i coded a script that would allow the user to create a custom size/shape gift card box and it was very popular for the holiday season when people often give away gift cards. That is when some users asked me to create other scripts to make hybrid projects. So here is one for you.

This script will NOT create the cards but will create the template for a card AND an envelope that you can then personalize. You choose the size and the flap design and the script will create what you need. Everything is left in separate layers so you can colorize or customize each section separately if you want, whether it is the flap for the envelope, or the front of the card only.

You can create tiny cards as small as 300 x 300 pixels (perfect for little notes, Advent calendars or other) or regular size ones up to 1800 x 1200 pixels. One neat feature of this script is that the maximum size template can still be printed on a regular home printer: no need for extra wide (and costly) printer or having to go to a print shop for it.

This script allows you to create a perfectly sized envelope if you crafted a custom card with your scrapbooking supplies or other. And of course, you can still add traditional 3d decorations to the printed card! Or you can just create blank templates and use them as base for your traditional card making.

Since this is really a TOOL script, you can use it to create CU products.

You can get this convenient script in my store: Creation Cassel

You can also win this script by adding your name and tell me for which occasion you are most likely to use this script in this thread in the DST forum. I will be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

cass-Card&Envelope-sampleAs a sample of what this week’s script can do, i created a card for you. It has no text so you can include your own personal note and wish, in any language you want, on the computer or by hand.

It has one folding card and a matching envelope that are 1200 x 900 pixels. Not a big card, but just something you can give a friend, your mom, your colleague, etc.

I used a FREE kit called “Doux Bruisssements”. This is only one of a series of free kits that are offered on that blog. They have one every month. It is definitely worth checking out that French site!

Once you download the files, you can just add something on top of the card and print both the card and the envelope, cut them, fold them and add something inside the card for whoever you want to give the card to.

And voilà, you have a perfectly matching card and envelope.

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

April Birthday Promo

Did you remember to shop this month? Did you accumulate enough purchase to give you a nice coupon for May? You still have just a few days to reach whatever goal you set for yourself. This weekend, i should be sending you a note with how much you have accumulated so far for your May coupon so you might want to start another wishlist to use it!

News from the Campus

The BIG Show Off is also coming down to the last few days. Did you see all the projects members are showing off? Did you leave some comments for them? See what Nadine posted:

Isn’t that lovely?

The Extraction Master Classes bundle is still available for a few days, so you better hurry before it is removed. If you use the code EXTRACT5, you get an extra $5 off the already reduced price for the two classes.

Get it NOW

(remember that any purchase in the Campus will also be added to what you might have spent in the store to increase your May coupon!)

If the Extraction Master Classes bundle offer expires on Monday, another deal will be offered but since the month of April is only a few days away, that deal will ONLY last for Monday and Tuesday. You don’t want to miss it so keep a very close eye on the Campus or even better, register in the Campus so you can get an email notification for it.

WARNING: it will ONLY BE FOR 48 HOURS!

New script – Repeat

cass-Repeat

If you want to create a long border with a specific design, how do you achieve that? Probably with a lot of copy and paste and move, and copy again, paste again and move again. This can be pretty tedious if you want to create a long strip of repeated pattern. And how do you make sure the spacing is perfectly even? That is another challenge.

This script does all the hard work for you and will take just a few seconds. In addition, you get many options in the type of repeats you can get AND you are the one deciding how the spacing should be.

You can have a simple straightforward repeat, but you can also have the design alternating up and down, or have it mirrored, or flipped, or both. You can even have the design overlap if you prefer.

You can use just about anything you want to repeat, whether it is a vector shape, a dingbat, a hand drawn design, an element, even an extracted element from your stash (just beware of any shadowing though).

cass-Repeat-01And since the elements can be left unmerged (if you prefer), you can still tweak them individually, colorizing them, replacing one of two of them, and more.

You can get this very versatile script in my store: Creation Cassel

What could you do with this script? Give us some ideas in this thread in the forum, for a chance to win it.

cass-RepeatFor this week’s free sample, I made this simple frame out of a dingbat that i colored. I used the mirrored repeat and slightly overlapped the first repeat with the original design, then, as the script offered me to merge the first two, i chose a different spacing for the following repeats.

Once a long strip of repeats was done, i selected a smaller portion of the strip to create the sides, and just with duplicates, and mirror and flip, i adjusted each side to create a frame. Very simple to do once you have the basic strip!

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

And there are more.

Bundle of the week

New Script – Multiple Dots

cass-MultipleDots

Do you like polkadot patterns, but want to have something more than the single dot? Here is a script that will give you the option to create layered concentric dots in random colors picked from the palette you chose.

You can create a singe dot pattern (with two colors), or a 2 x 2 design where all four dots are using the same colors, or a 2 x 2 design where all the dots are randomly colored. The end result is obviously seamless so you can use the tiles as a pattern in your Paintshop Pro. Use them straight or at a 45 degree angle for a different look.

Each tile ends up with all the dots on separate unmerged layers, so you can also replace one dot by something else, or add a shadow, or a texture to each layer independently.

Use bold or subtle colors to match your kit or your photo. Add an extra design in the middle of the smaller dots.

You can get this script in my store, at Creation Cassel. It is on sale at 25% off until MONDAY NIGHT (this is in response to those who mentioned that due to the time zones, they tend to miss the sale price when it ended on Sunday night while the newsletter was released on Sunday morning).

As usual, there is also a random draw in the forum where you can win this script. Check out this thread, and just add a comment to the thread (i am not asking much this time). I will be back on Monday night with the name of a winner.

bhdesigns_jggThis week, I didn’t create a freebie for you, but someone else did. I asked Bernadette to test run this script and she got inspired in using this script in a totally different way that i expected! She used it to create a paper; that is the typical use for it, but she also used the dots separately and made a wordart, and some elements too. You can download her freebie mini-kit by clicking on the preview.

Thanks Bernadette.

If you want to look at a matching kit, she has it in her store here.

News in the Campus

Are you familiar with LOAD (Layout A Day)? If you ever participated in the past, you will want to register again, right? If you never participated, it is a great time to start.

scraphappier

The the inspiration and nudge to complete one layout a day for the whole month of February (it only has 28 days!). Whether you are a traditional paper scrapper, or a digital scrapper, you can join in the fun and with the title of SCRAPHAPPIER, what else than fun can you expect?

There is a little contest on the Campus where you can WIN your registration: either you win a registration or you win a refund of your registration if you already paid for it. Since the places are limited and the number of seats is quickly dwindling, you might want to secure yours now.

If you want to register now, go for it: REGISTER NOW.

Then, head over to the Campus and add a comment to the LOAD post. If you participated in previous LOAD events, tell us what you liked about it. If you never participated, tell us why you would like to join. I will draw for a winner on January 27th, 2013. Tell your friends too!

ENTER THE DRAW

Ribbon Tree winner–Congratulations to Eileen

tree-05Thank you to all those who voted for their favorite ribbon tree in last week’s contest.

I am pleased to announce that the entry #5 is a winner by grabbing a whopping 46% of the popular vote.

This #5 entry was submitted by Eileen, a regular customer of the store, and also a student of the Campus.

As the winner of this contest, Eileen earned herself a $15 coupon for the store. In addition, everyone else who submitted entries got a $3 coupon.

If you want to create your own unique ribbon tree, you can do so using the same script that Eileen used, the Ribbon Tag Tree script.

cass-ChristmasCard-RibbonTree-05-previewWith this great ribbon tree, I created a fun printable holiday card. This card has no text so you can use it in any language, and add whatever title you want. You can also add a handwritten note inside for your loved ones, your friends, or anyone else you want to send good wishes to.

You can grab it on the store Facebook fan page, under the Fan Freebie tab. Of course, you need to “like” that page.

Already a fan of the Creation Cassel? Just head over to this page.

Not a fan yet? Go to the same page, and “like” us.

And send your friends over too! You dont know what else will be in that freebie page!

Ribbon Tree contest

A couple of weeks ago, I announced a little contest for those of you who purchased the Ribbon Tag Tree script. I challenged you to create a ribbon tree (or more than one) and we would have a contest. Well, i was thrilled to see 8 submissions to this contest (i hope none of your contributions were stuck in the mail and didn’t reach me!).

I am so happy to see how creative you have been. I love to see how the same script has yielded so many different results. It is FANTASTIC don’t you think?

So it is now time to vote.

If  you want, you are welcome to comment below. If you want to add specific comments or praises to the designers of some trees, simply indicate who it is for and I will point the designers to this post.

Ribbon trees – where is yours?

DianneParham_ribbon_tree

Did you create your Ribbon tree yet? Remember the contest:

- you provide me with a creative “ribbon tree” made with the Ribbon Tag Tree script, in png format

- you will automatically get a $3 coupon for my store

- on Dec 1st, i will post all the trees i got (you can submit more than one) and you will vote for your favourite. The winner will get a $15 coupon for my store (in addition to the $3 for having submitted one or several trees)

If you don’t have the Ribbon Tag Tree script yet, you can still get it HERE. Even at full price, when you get a $3 off, you end up getting it for half price!

Here is one submission i got. Where is yours?

New Script Seamless Tiling

cass-SeamlessTiling

Do you sometimes want to create a seamless background out of a smaller element? Do you find yourself unhappy with the Seamless Tiling available in your program? That command creates a seamless effect by fading in the designs, on the edges or the corners. Yes, it is seamless, but it does not look realistic at all. This script creates a seamless tiling the same way you would do if you did it manually: by overlapping the design, instead of fading it in.

You possibly found out about this technique if you watched or attended the workshop on Seamless Designs, but although you knew how to do it, you still found it was tedious, and required precise calculations to make the end result REALLY seamless. That is why Suzy asked me to convert that technique into a script that would do the exact same steps, faster and more precisely.

Do you want to see a close comparison between the seamless effect and the script? Check this out:

WithPSPSeamless   WithScript

Seamless pattern made with the PSP effect             Seamless pattern made with the script

Do you see those fading leaves on the left example? That is the way PSP creates the seamlessness while on the right example (done with the script), you really cannot see where the design starts or ends. Which one do you think would look better to create a background?

You can get this script in my store: Creation Cassel

You can also enter your name in the thread HERE for a chance to win this script. Don’t worry. If you bought the script to take advantage of the special weekend price, and you win the draw, you get a coupon for a future release. It has happened, and it gave a chance to someone to actually pick which new product they wanted! So hurry and post in this thread. I will be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

cass-SeamlessTiling-samples As a free sample, i chose to create three seamless tiles for you with the script. First, i used the Grass blades tube from PSP, and created a horizontal seamless tile. This would be great to add to any project with a nature or vacation theme. Second, i use a combination of spruce branches, bows and bells to make a vertical tile. You can use this tile to embellish some stationary or cards with a holiday theme (i know, it might be ahead of time, but you can start early). Then, i made a diagonally seamless tile with the fall leaves tubes from PSP too.

How will you use these samples? Show me!

You need to be logged in to download this sample. You can either login, or register on the top of this page.

February Promotion – Paintshop Pro to win

It is time! I promised you all the details of this promotion TODAY. Were you stalking my blog? Ok so here are the details.

The promotion will last the whole month of February (it is only 28 days so the suspense will be shorter!). You will have THREE ways to enter your name into the draw. Yes, it will be a random draw because i personally do not like judged contest, and i want everyone to have the same chance, whether you are a beginner, or an experienced scrapper/designer. No favorite. Everyone is even.

FIRST WAY to enter: simply comment on this post that you want to enter the contest. Not too hard is it? So, by simply adding your name as a comment, you have ONE entry.

SECOND WAY to enter: this will require a tiny bit more work (but it wont be hard). Just browse in my store, and tell me, in a comment, what product of mine you find the most unique, original or useful. You can name only ONE (i know, that is the hardest part!). You simply post it in a comment to this post (you can put it in the same comment as your previous entry if you want, and i will count them separately).

THIRD WAY to enter: ok, this one will make you work, and that is why you have the whole month of February. I want you to make a layout or a montage using at least ONE of my products. It CAN be a product from the store, but it can also be one of the freebies from this blog. That means, you do not have to be a PSP user to participate. See? i am thinking of everyone here: PSP users, PS users, PSE users, GIMP users, etc. I know, some of you might have more than one of my products (from the store or the samplers), but you can enter only ONCE in this manner. You post the link to your layout, as it could be anywhere, on your blog, in a gallery, or even in MY gallery if you want (here).

Remember, no matter how many comments you make, how many products you name, or how many layout you show, you have a maximum of THREE possible entries (you wont get disqualified for showing more though!).

Now, what is there to win?

PSPX3   set4-small

There will be three prizes.

First prize: one full copy of Paintshop Photo Pro X3 (given to me by Corel!) and a full access to the PSP course i put up, including 36 video tutorials for scrappers, beginning designers or beginner PSP users. That is a value of $150 total.

Second prize: full access to the PSP course. Value of $50

Third prize: $15 GC to my store (and i have more than just PSP products!)

So, as you can see, it is a fun contest for PSP users who might want to get the latest version of PSP, or non-PSP users wanting to give it a try, but for more than the 30 day trial period allowed. What do you think? I am waiting for your entries through the comments on this post! So, is it worth it?

Let’s begin!

I am waiting for your comments!!!

Big contest soon

PSPX3 On February 1st, there will be a big contest on this blog. What is to win? Over $200 worth of prizes. In fact, it will be just a random draw, but you will have three chances to enter. I will not disclose everything … yet, but let’s say that the first prize includes a copy of Paintshop Photo Pro X3 and something else. This might appeal to PSP users who might want the latest version of PSP, or to non-PSP users who might want to give this program a try (more than 30 days!) to use some PSP specific products (like scripts and tubes). But this is not all. You will have to stay tuned, and you will get all the details on February 1st.

Can you guess??
