New script – Cogwheels 2

Cogwheels script for PaintShop Pro

Whether you are into steampunk style, or just like to work with various mechanisms that use gears, creating new shapes might be a little tedious.

This script will offer you the options for the number and types of teeth, and the number and types of spokes. But you can also generate something totally random, in just a couple of clicks and every one of them will be slightly different.

See how you can run the script and how to attach all those gears together:

Cogwheels frameFor a sample, I created a frame using various cogwheels generated by the script. I resized them, added a texture using Filter Forge, added a bevel, and shadows. I also had fun adding chains to connect those wheels.

The download includes a pspimage format with a mask group to add your photo, but also a simple png file if you don't have PaintShop Pro to open the pspimage file.

New picture tubes – Skyline 2

Skyline picture tubes for PaintShop ProSometimes, a random skyline is what you need for a background, but how do you make one without using the same one over and over again? This set of picture tubes will randomly place different elements for you and you can colorize them however you want, or leave them black.

You get three sets: one for the country, one for the small town, and one for the big city.

City skyline in greyscale in PNG formatFor a sampler, I created a multi-level city skyline in greyscale. You can simply colorize it to suit your project and then, use it in the background. Adjust the opacity if you want it faint and discrete.

New script – Line Painting

Line Painting script for PaintShop ProWhen I was in school, I remember one art class where we had to use straight lines of different thicknesses to replicate a simple image. I was not very good at that, but I would have loved to have this script, which does it in just a few seconds.

Starting with any image, the script will reduce the number of colors and change it to greyscale to determine the brightness of each section and then fill those sections with straight lines in different thicknesses. In the end, you get various options to finish the project. You can use those line paintings to display photos that have odd colors, or not in focus, or just as a background for your page.

New script – Simple Frame

Simple Frame script for PaintShop ProSometimes, you just want to add a simple frame to your photo in order to show it off. This script will help you do that quickly, while still letting you choose the colors for the frame and the mats.

You can choose the width of the overall mats and the frame and also decide if you want the mat to be single, double or triple.

Everything is left unmerged so you can add a final touch if you want.

Frames in PNG formatAs a sample for this script, I created a set of four frames based on seasonal photos so you get a frame for each of the four seasons. Each frame allows a photo of about 7 inches on the longest side. They are all in PNG format, so they are useful in various graphic programs.

New script – Palette Maker 2

This script will generate a color palette for you starting with any photo you have. Each color will be displayed as a brush stroke on the right or the bottom of the image. The hex code for each color is optional.

New picture tubes – Tatting Lace 2

Tatting lace picture tubes for PaintShop ProTatting is a long process to create those delicate edges and designs. If you want to create them and then extract the designs for yourself, it will take you a long time.

These picture tubes are already extracted for you and are directional so they can follow the movement of your cursor or a vector path if you want to use the VectorTube script.

New script – Circles and Spirals

Circles and spirals script for PaintShop ProYou can place elements along a circle or a spiral manually, but it is quite tedious.

This script will take care of all the calculations for you and create that perfect circle or spiral with any starting element. Use beads, pearls, flowers, greenery, hearts, stars, flower petals, etc.

Use the circles for frames, and the spirals for accents.

New script – Paper Fringe

Paper Fringe script for PaintShop ProIn order to create a paper fringe with PaintShop Pro, you will need to cut your element multiple times, and then, warp each piece one by one. But there is a problem: how do you warp one piece of paper without warping the next one? Well, there is a way to do it, but it is tedious, which is why this script will be a time saver.

With various options in the orientation, length, width, and regularity of the slits, there is also randomness integrated into the script to allow for a different result every time you run it, even if using the same settings and the same starting image.

And see what you can do when you repeat the script using multiple strips of colored papers.

As a sample, I created this square frame from four strips of paper that were run through the script, one by one, and then put together to make the frame. I added a little contrasting border to add some interest. Now, you can showcase your favorite photo.

New Script – Paper Strips

Paper Strips script for PaintShop ProSometimes, it can look interesting to have a series of paper strips of different colors or patterns to serve as a background for a project. However, that can be tedious and time-consuming.

This script will just do that for you in a very short time, using your papers, and your options, sprinkled with some randomness too. Every run of the script will yield a different result, even if you were to use the same papers and the same options.

Paper Strips template for PaintShop ProAs a sample, I chose to create a series of strips, aligned to the bottom, and turned them into a template so you can use it with your favorite papers. These strips are grouped so you can copy and paste them onto your project in one step (instead of copying them one by one!).

New script – Bow #19

Bow script for PaintShop ProUsing bows and knots can be quite versatile as long as you have variety. This is the 19th type of bow in the store (and we have knots too) so using your own straight ribbon, you will have the option to create some matching bows. The script uses a random location on the ribbon so if you run the script multiple times on a patterned ribbon, you will get different results.

If you don't have a straight ribbon to use, the script can generate one for you with your choice of color, gradient or pattern.

Little bows in colors in PNG formatAs a sampler, I created six little bows using ribbons from Janet Kemp. I layered a grosgrain ribbon with lace and flattened both. Then, I ran the script. I then ran the script on the grosgrain ribbon alone (without the lace), and since the layers were not merged, I copied and pasted the knot part only to replace the one on the "lacy" bow. It is a little more work but it shows how versatile this script can be with unmerged layers.
