New script – Stacked Wooden Alpha

You can surely create stacks of wooden characters, but it is quite tedious. You have to duplicate each character, and then rotate and move them one by one, then add some thickness AND if you want to add the proper inside shadows, you have to do that on each individual layer.

But the script will do that in just a few seconds. Furthermore, it will change the angle of the wood texture for each layer, making your stacks even more random.

Once done, all the layers will be merged so that the inside shadows are not disturbed.

For a sampler, I created a set of 10 digits, using cherry wood. Each digit is about 500 pixels high in png format.

New script – Bow #23

If you want some variety in your supplies but still want something to match what you currently have, this is another script to create a bow from a straight ribbon.

If your ribbon is thicker than 175 pixels, the script will resize it to create the bow, however, if your ribbon is between 100 and 175 pixels, it will just create a smaller bow.

All the layers are left unmerged so you can tweak them as needed or insert something in the knot.

For a sample, I used some ribbon templates from Marisa Lerin and colored them with some autumn colors. The freebie includes the three bows but also the matching straight ribbon I created for them so you can even use them with other scripts to create other types of bows and knots.

New script – Echo Text

You can showcase your favorite photo with a custom mask based on the text of your choice. You can choose any text, in any font. You can finish the script by editing the original text to something different if you want. You can move that text where you want on the project, whether it is on top, on the bottom, or in the plain center.

This is a great way to add a name, a date, an event, a location, or a meaningful phrase.

For a sample, I ran the script starting with the word "Family" in a fairly thin font, but finished it with a thicker version of the same name, placed at the bottom. This allows you to showcase your photo without interruptions in the middle.

New script – Triangles 4

This script will let you create a variety of different triangle-patterned papers in any size you want.

Using one of three ways to select the colors, you can end up with a monochrome design, a paper with two colors, or a design made of individual triangles based on a color palette of your choice.

The script will use any active image and will create a separate layer so you can even run the script on a work-in-progress.

For a sampler, I created two papers using Halloween colors and made them into bookmarks that you can print and cut if you want. The files are in PNG format so it can be used by anyone.

New script – Broomstick

For a Halloween or witch-themed project, a broom is always welcome. But how do you get something custom? This script will yield a different result every time you run it, even though you get options to customize the broomstick by choosing the type and color of the handle, the color of the straw and the color of the string.

Furthermore, you can add text of your choice to be engraved on the handle!

New font – Decorative Stitches 2

You might already be familiar with dingbats, but very few fonts will replicate machine stitching. The Creation Cassel store is the only place where you can find those fonts. This time around, I created another set of 50 different stitches that you can add to your arsenal.

The zip file includes two versions of each of the stitches: one with clean edges and one with irregular edges.

For a sampler, I created a simple rectangular 7x5 inches frame made from a decorative (and basic) stitch. They are in greyscale, so you can colorize it however you want to match your project. Then, add a texture, a bevel, and a shadow to create that 3D effect. Showcase a photo or some text inside it.

New script – Cracked Paint 2

If you like the grungy style, this script will help you. It can turn any design, drawing, photo, or any flat element into a wooden item with cracked paint all over.

Every run of the script will yield a different result because the cracks will be in different shapes, and various random areas will be unaffected.

The end result will be left unmerged so you can apply additional effects if you want, or change the color of the wood base.

As a sample, I created a simple alphabet with Halloween colors and ran the script on each of those elements. You get a full alphabet of uppercase, and ten digits to match.

New script – Inked Edge 2

This script will quickly add an inked edge around any element, photo, or shape for you. It will look like a wet/watercolor ink that was added in three runs. The edges will be uneven all over and slightly more opaque on the very edges.

The inked border will be left unmerged from the base shape so you can actually use it separately if you want for a different effect.

This week, I created a whole alphabet using the Fatty font in orange color with a brown edge. That would be very suitable for fall or Halloween themes.

New script – Pretzels

You can now have some custom-shaped pretzels to either write a title, make a frame, or draw an arrow.

You can use one of the three bases and three seasonings. And you can also choose how much seasoning to add. With the random feature integrated into the script, every run will yield a slightly different result, even if you start with the same design and choose the same options.

For a sample, I created a whole alphabet using this script. I drew the letters manually and even had separate sections that I merged together to give more 3D effects.

New script – String Bows

It is fairly easy to use a ready-made bow and maybe colorize it, but you still end up with the same shape, every time. Wouldn't you like to get more variety?

This script will generate slightly different shapes of a bow, and since it will use any picture tube you select, it will give you a lot of versatility. You can use any of the string picture tubes or rope picture tubes in the store. You can also try to use other tubes like pipe cleaners or garlands for different effects. The zip file will also include one greyscale string picture tube for you to use.

As a sample for this script, I ran it and used three different metallic rope tubes. You get three bows, about 800-900 pixels wide so you can resize them if needed.
