New script – Custom Seal

Custom Seal script for digital scrapbooking with Paintshop ProDo you like the look of a nice "official" seal to put on your project but can't find one in the color you want? Or would you like to find one that has the name of your child, or the name of the city you visited, or the specific date of your last vacation?

Of course, you can't find those in ready-made seals, but you can create your own with this script.

Use any color you want, any text, any design and even any font.

Valentine Day Custom Seal in PNG format made from a script in Paintshop ProSince February is coming, and so is Valentine Day, I decided to create a few seals that you could use either on scrapbook pages about your loved one or on custom card or design you might create for him/her.

They are about 1000x1000 pixels so they are large enough to use as is or size down if you need to.

New script – Word Insert

Word insert script for Paintshop ProIf you have used the Word Cutout script, you know that it would only use the edge of the photo. However, sometimes, the edge holds some meaningful parts of the image and you would like to cut the words out of another location.

This is what this script will do. Just like the Word Cutout script, you can choose the text and the font, but this time, you can also select the location INSIDE the image.

That will give you more flexibility and several additional options. now you can pick any area of the photo that would be suitable for a cutout text, even if it is right in the middle!

Word templates in PNG formatUsing a black image, 4000x3000 pixels, i ran the script 3 times to add the individual words of "Live", "Love" and "Laugh". To make them even, i used guides before running the script, so my selections were always the same height. Neat trick!

I repeated the same process for both templates.

So you are getting 2 PNG templates that you can use with your favorite photo.

New script – Jigsaw Puzzle

Jigsaw puzzle script for Paintshop ProAlthough it might be easy to create a simple puzzle with 20 or 30 pieces, it is a whole different story when you want to have hundreds of pieces.

This script will turn any photo into a 300 pieces puzzle, complete with the bevels around each piece.

But that is not all. You also get the option to separate some pieces from the main puzzle. The script will NOT create 300 individual layers (you would get lost) but will separate those pieces YOU select with a single dot. Those pieces will be on separate  layers so you can manipulate them to your liking and pretend that you really have 300 separate pieces!

Wavy edge in painted cardboardSince this script is to be applied to your own photo, i thought i could create a little something using last week's script, the Painted Cardboard.

In fact, i used the Waving script to create the base shapes, and then, ran the Painted Cardboard script to turn them into cardboard.

You get 5 wavy edges. Use them one at the time or layer more than one to insert elements in-between if you want.

The colors are basic white and black on neutral cardboard.

New script – Painted Cardboard

Painted Cardboard script for Paintshop ProWhat do you like about incorporating ripped pieces of papers in a digital project? The rustic look? Maybe. But how do you go around getting those for your layout other than scanning them?

Easy! You use a script in Paintshop Pro!

This script will let you start with any shape, in any color and it will work its magic with just a few questions to answer or choices to make. That's it! It will create the ripped uneven edges, and convert your initial color into strips of uneven paint.

And best of all, every run will yield a different result because of the random function incorporated into the script. If you don't like one result, undo (Ctrl-Z) and run again. It's that easy!

Painted Cardboard framesAs a sample, i created 3 frames using this script. All three were made starting with a different gradient instead of a solid color. They are about 6 inches in the longest side so you should be able to get a photo in them.

With this rustic look, you can probably combine those frames with other elements in a cluster. That would be great! Don't you think?

New script – Puffy Paint

Every run of the script will give you a different look because of the random feature coded in the script.

cass-puffypaint-digitsAs a sampler of what you can get with this script, I created a set of digits in "white". You can easily fill them in with the color of your choice for a different look.

Since it is white, you can also consider them as icing digits. And why not fill them with our own Sprinkles?

Each digit is about 400 pixels high in PNG format.

A complete set will be available in the newsletter, so keep an eye on it, this coming Sunday.

New script – Playdough

Playdough texture script for Paintshop ProAs a child, you likely have played with playdough (or plasticine). You must have created textures, poked your finger in it, rolled it to make snakes and used cookie cutters to create various shapes.

Now, with this script, you can replicate that fun effect with any shape and color (even multicolored elements).

The script will generate a texture based on a texture tile but also a random array of settings, making each run create a slightly different texture.

You can choose one of 4 thickness, which will be more appropriate with the size of the project, or the size of the individual element.

The script will even add a drop shadow on a separate layer. If you like that shadow, just keep it. If you prefer to add your own, you can do so too.

Get this script in the store: Playdough.

What kind of designs would you create with this script? Would you write text? Create long and twisted "snakes"? cut out shapes? Tell me in the comments below. Playdough alphabetFor a sampler, I created a "hand drawn" alphabet for you. I used three fall colors.

Since several letters were created with overlapping segments, the drop shadows were added to each of them.
