Do you want to double-check all your products (or your designers' products) before putting them up in the store? This script will help you achieve that. This utility will perform several tasks for you:
- it will check for extra white space around any PNG element; if there is, the script will trim it AND resave the file. It will also notify you how much-needed trimming (was it 2 pixels, or 200 pixels)
- it will check that the resolution of all the PNG and JPG elements are at least 300 dpi; if it is less than that, it will resize it to the correct resolution. It will also let you know what was the initial resolution.
- it will let you know if there is a GIF file in the set; if you are a store owner and are concerned about the overall overuse of larger files, like GIF, you have the choice of removing it or not. The script will only let you know and won't touch it.
- it will generate a QualityCheck.txt file for you with a report of each file checked, if there was something to correct, or if the file was OK, and if there were one or more GIF files to check yourself. This report can be used by you to document your feedback to the designers.
This script can be used on one single image open in PSP, or use in a batch process to check the whole content of a kit folder in just a few seconds.
