New script – Ribbon Butterflies

Ribbon Butterflies script for PaintShop ProIf you are a little bored with regular bows to embellish your projects, here is something a bit different: butterflies. Although they are similar to a bow, they have that symmetry and the additional beaded body to turn them to something original.

You can use any straight ribbon, whether it is opaque or translucent, with straight edges or scalloped. If you use a smaller ribbon, the result will be a smaller butterfly. The maximum size it will make is a 900-pixels butterfly. If your ribbon is thicker than 400 pixels, the script will resize it to 400 and work from there.

New Script – Woven Ribbons Frame

Woven Ribbons Frame script for PaintShop ProWeaving ribbons can be a tedious task, so if you want to create a frame with woven ribbons, it also means four times as many weaving to do. That can take a long time. And if you are using 4 ribbons, it also multiplies the steps.

This script will do all the cutting, copying, pasting, rotating, shading and weaving of 2, 3 or 4 ribbons to create a frame of the size you will decide, in just a few seconds. Then, you'll have more time to adjust the photo you want to showcase or the story you want to tell.

New script – Zigzag Ribbon

zigzag folded ribbon script for PaintShop ProUsing a straight ribbon and turning it into a zigzag with multiple folds can be a fun way to use the same ribbon in different ways on the same layout or to create consistency between several layouts in a project.

This script will take care of all the tedious tasks of measuring, cutting, rotating and aligning all the pieces to create a continuous zigzag ribbon element.

zigzag ribbons in png formatAs a sampler, I started with a very long ribbon (5000 pixels) that I painted with a gradient. I thought it would be fun to see the gradient through the various folds. I repeated the effect with a different gradient, so you end up with two zigzag, but also the matching straight ribbons so you can use them elsewhere on your project.

New script – Ribbon Factory B

Ribbon Factory script for Paintshop ProEvery project can use ribbons and creating custom ribbons with the specific colors of a photo or a kit can be tedious. This script, which is an extension of the Ribbon Factory script, will create such ribbons using two colors of your chosen palette with a variety of patterns and other settings.

You can generate up to 20 ribbons per run of the script, and you can choose between 1 and 6 colors. In the end, save the ribbons you like and discard the others. And then, use those ribbons to create knots, bows, frames, and more.

Ribbons in png formatAs a sampler, this week, I used the same color palette as I used last time to create those fun spring confetti and generated a dozen of ribbons, 200 pixels thick.

You have various patterns and color combinations to play with. And since they match the confetti, you can combine them in a single project to show off in our FB group!

New script – Custom Kit Ribbons

Custom kit ribbons script for Paintshop ProWhenever you are creating a kit or a layout, you might want to include or use some matching ribbons. Unfortunately, not all kits have them. If you are creating your own kits, then you will want to add such matching ribbons, but in the end, you tend to use the same type of ribbons, while you would prefer some variety.

You can use the Ribbon Factory script to create ribbons based on the color palette, but if you want to match some patterns used in the papers, you will need this script.

You can generate up to 50 ribbons per run, and although you pick the thickness of the ribbons and the papers to use as a base, the rest will be randomly decided by the script, so you will get a bunch of different ribbons. Keep the ones you like, discard the others.

Ribbons in png formatAs a sample, I am including 12 of the many ribbons that were generated in making the preview for the script. Using 6 papers from a kit from Janet Scott. You can find that paper kit HERE.

Each ribbon is 3600 pixels long and obviously match those papers.

New script – Ribbon Factory

Ribbon making script for Paintshop proDo you like to use ribbons in your projects? Straight ribbons are easy to find, right? Not always. In fact, it is possible to get some greyscale ribbons and colorize them to match your project, but some colors are quite hard to get right (like the yellows). In addition, the ribbons you get would always be the exact same kind, with the same size, same shape, same light/dark areas, etc.

This script was requested by DeLoris who wanted some simple basic ribbons but with the ability to create several of them at once. I just thought it would be best to also add some randomization so that each ribbon created will be slightly different from the next one, even if you are using the same color palette.

You can generate up to 20 ribbons with a single run of the script. You can choose the thickness of the ribbons, from 100 to 300 pixels. Each ribbon will be 4000 pixels so you will be able to use them across your page, even at an angle!

Straight ribbons in png format for scrapbookingI went a little crazy with the freebie, this week. I found a fun color palette that seemed nice for a spring theme (sorry for our Aussie friends who are heading toward winter, but spring will be back in 6 months!).

I created 25 ribbons for you, using the different colors, different size, and the script generated all those ribbons (that makes for an unusually large file).

They are all 4000 pixels long so you can use them in many ways.

New script – Ribbon Tag Banners

Ribbon Tag Banners script for Paintshop ProSometimes, you might have some interesting straight ribbons, but you would like to use them differently. How about creating some banners with bits and pieces of those ribbons? Does it sound like too much work? Of course, it can be tedious to do by hand, but with this script, you will have it done perfectly, in no time.

You have many options and even if you used the same options with the exact same ribbons, you will always get a slightly different result. Add a rope or a stitching on the top and you get another result.

Use your Paintshop Pro and this script to create a matching decorative element for your project, especially if you are using the straight ribbons elsewhere on the page. Or, if you want to add a decorative banner in your kit.

Have fun with this script. Get it in the store: Ribbon Tag Banners.

For a chance to get this script for free, tell me how you would like to "tie" those ribbon pieces: a string or a stitching or something else? I'll announce the winner in next week's newsletter. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Ribbon Tag Banner for Halloween for freeFor a sample of what this script can do, I used a single ribbon and colorized it in orange, and darkened the other copy to create a Halloween theme banner. The whole element is 3600 pixels wide, but you can easily resize it down to match the the space you need on your project.

Use this banner across the page, or between two photos, or just under the journaling to add focus on it.

The string on top, was made using the VectorTube script and I applied one Rope tube.

New script – Loop #2

Ribbon loop 2 script for Paintshop ProAre you often looking for the perfect loop but you can only find templates that you have to colorize in one color? or a script that only lets you choose a color, gradient or pattern, but does not give a very realistic effect, especially with patterns?

This script will help you get what you want because you can use your own straight ribbon and the script will cut a piece to be curved into a loop.

You can use a texture ribbon, a translucent ribbon, a patterned ribbon, a directional ribbon, etc.

You can also add an eyelet if you want, to attach the pieces. The end result will be left unmerged in case you want to do some tweaking or to insert elements between the layers.

Get this script in the store: Loop #2

If you want another type of loop, check out the Loop #1 script.

Do you want a chance to win this script (even if you already bought it?). Tell me what type of ribbon you would like to use in such a loop. Add your suggestion in the comments below and i'll pick a winner that will be announced in the newsletter next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

New script – Eyelet #2

cass-Eyelet2

A long time ago, one script was added in the store to create a basic eyelet design using Paintshop Pro. This time, not only you get ribbon, but you can choose many more options and the script is also responsive to offer you choices based on the size of your starting image.

You get 3 embroidered designs: the edge, the eyelets and the flowers. Each will be on a different layer and can be combined. You can have an edge and eyelets, and edge and flower, or an edge and eyelets and flowers. You can have the design on the top, on the bottom or on both edges. If the image/ribbon is thick enough, you can have the row of flowers doubled, if not, it will be single and centered.

You can use any straight and boring ribbon, or you can create your own using a strip of paper or a solid color with a texture.

Once the “ribbon” is done, it is up to you to use it as you wish. Make it into a frame, sew it to another element, ruffle it, tie it or knot it (with another script). Since the embroidered designs are left on separate layers, you can adjust the colors. And if you ran this script on a piece of paper, you can even remove the embroidery and just pretend you punched the paper!

You can grab this fun and creative script in my store at Creation Cassel.

If you want a chance to win this script, you can add your name to this thread in the DST forum and tell me how you could use this script BESIDE making a ribbon. Let’s be creative! I’ll be back on Monday with the name of a winner.

cass-Eyelet2-sampleI know it is a bit American holiday coming up (I see that in the numerous 4th of July), but I also know that not everybody is American, so I figured I could create some basic eyelet edges for everyone, in basic colors. This sampler will give you 5 different eyelets in 4000 pixels each.

Being more than the traditional 3600 pixels in length, you can use them at an angle and still go across a standard scrapbook page. You can also make frames out of them.
