New script – Word Frame 5

Word Frame script for PaintShop ProYou can now create your own frame to showcase your favorite photo. No more hoping to find a ready-made frame that has a word suitable for you. You can choose any text you want, and even a specific location or date that is personalized to tell your story.

This script allows you to create a variety of frames, with text or empty sections. You can choose any font you want and the frame will be adjusted to the exact dimensions to fit the word. You can get one or two sections with text or blank. You can decide on the thickness of the frame.

The frame will be on its own layer so you can add effects, bevel, shadow, etc. and you can even use it separately, without any photo.

Word frames in png formatAs a sampler, I created three frames starting from a 1400x1400 pixels blank image. I added the text on top and created an empty section on the bottom. I simply filled that section with various designs to match the top part. Each frame is black, but you can colorize them however you need to fit your project.

New Picture Tube – Braided Ribbons

Braided Ribbons picture tubes for PaintShop ProIf you ever braided ribbons in the past, you know that they could make for a nice long element that can then be used in various shapes. This is the same that you can do with PaintShop Pro and this set of picture tubes.

The set includes 10 colors plus a grey one that you can colorize if the base colors are not what you need.

Draw with your cursor or use the VectorTube script to place them perfectly along a path.

Braided Ribbon frame in PNG formatAs a sampler, I just made a basic oval shape and using the VectorTube script, added some green braided ribbon. I added a ribbon bow (which is from Digitalscrapbook.com) and colorized it to match the ribbons (it was light blue initially).

New font – Two-Tone Stitch 1

Two Tone stitching fontFinally, a new font in the store. This time, it will allow you to use two colors of threads if you want, or simply showcase the layered effect of the stitches with the bevel and shadow.

Use those stitches in a straight line (like most "text") or along a path, like you would add "text on a path". You can choose any size: it won't be blurred or pixelated since it will be a vector. All the measuring is done for you so that the two layers will perfectly align.

New Brushes – School Punches

School themed punches for PaintShop ProSeptember is often the time for back to school, whether we have young kids, older teenagers, or grandkids in that age group. Or maybe it can also be a grown-up going back to school!

These punches are perfect with the Eraser tool, and you can also use them as brushes, to add some details in a contrasting color.

You get 12 designs for corners, and 12 matching edges. In addition, you get individual elements in brush format so you can use them on their own.

School frame in png formatFor a sample, I created a simple frame that is 3600x3600 pixels. You can use it full-size to frame a whole page or you can size it down to fit a smaller photo. I am also including a frame made of wood that is slightly smaller.

New script – Nested Frames

Nested Frames script for PaintShop ProIn order to create evenly spaced nested frames, you will need a lot of calculations. And if the focus area is not in the very center of your image, it means calculating the spacing separately for four sides. That can be a real challenge.

This script will take care of everything for you, while you only have to select the number of frames, their thickness and colors. The rest is handled by the script.

At the end, the frames will be left on their own layer so you can add more effects to them (bevel, shadows, texture, etc.) or use those frames to select parts of the photo and give it more variations (saturation, lightness, colors, etc.)

In order to win this script, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us whether you ever used nested frames in the past (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) Nested FramesFor this week's sample, I created a set of nested frames to fit a 7x5 inch image. Since the frames are white and have no bevel or shadows, you can flip them, mirror them or rotate them to fit your photo. Add whatever effect you want to the frames or use them to apply effects to the photo.

Noticed that I had a little play on the preview: Although it might look like I cut the frames, I actually made some selection from the photo, promoted those selections to their own layer, and move that layer on top of the frames. This allows me to move the frames if needed, as they are still intact.

New Script – Woven Ribbons Frame

Woven Ribbons Frame script for PaintShop ProWeaving ribbons can be a tedious task, so if you want to create a frame with woven ribbons, it also means four times as many weaving to do. That can take a long time. And if you are using 4 ribbons, it also multiplies the steps.

This script will do all the cutting, copying, pasting, rotating, shading and weaving of 2, 3 or 4 ribbons to create a frame of the size you will decide, in just a few seconds. Then, you'll have more time to adjust the photo you want to showcase or the story you want to tell.

New script – Ribbon Star

Ribbon star script for PaintShop ProWhether you want to use it as a frame for a photo or a bit of a story, star-shape frames are not always easy to find, and even harder to customize. However, this script will allow you to use ANY straight ribbon you have to create that frame you were looking for.

New tubes – Crochet Lace Tubes 4

Crochet Lace Edge picture tubes for PaintShop ProThese crochet lace tubes will allow you to create edges of any length you want, and even add some wave to it (not too much as it would distort the design). Once you have your straight (or almost straight) lace, you can turn it into a frame, or just add it to a cluster along with other decorative elements.

Crochet lace frames in PNG formatAs a sample, I created two frames using two of the tubes included in the set. One frame is square, about 2000x2000 pixels and the other is rectangular, at 2000x1600 pixels. They are in PNG format, and you don't have to import them anywhere into your PaintShop Pro; just open it on your workspace and add it on your project. Easy!?
