New script – Watermelon

For any summer theme, you can create watermelon slices in any shape you want. How often have you seen a watermelon slice in a heart shape, or an arrow shape?

Now, you can have as many as you want and they will all be slightly different, just like a "real" watermelon slice.

For a samplers, I created a complete alphabet (A to Z) and also a set of digits (0 to 9) to allow you to create just about any title for your summertime projects.

New script – Engraved Metal

Engraving metal can be a way to customize a variety of elements and this script will help you achieve that.

You can start with any black and white design (with clean lines) and convert that shape into one of four metals: gold, silver, bronze, or brass. Any black section will then be engraved in the shape for you.

Each run of the script will yield a slightly different result unless you choose to edit the script to set specific values to repeat the settings multiple times.

For a sample, I created a set of gold alphas pieces that can be used for titles or as initials. Each piece is just under 500 pixels in size so you can resize them as needed.

New script – Admission Tickets 3

Tickets are very versatile elements you can add to your projects to incorporate some meaningful information or just fun words.

With various options available, you can create something that will be very specific to your project or your theme. The script can even generate random (but consecutive) numbers if you create a series of tickets. You can create a strip up to 12 tickets in one run.

I created four series of tickets, for the four seasons. Since I wanted to leave the top area empty for you to add your own text, I hid that layer before saving the strips. Now, you can add a date if your want, or anything that would fit in that area.

New script – Gradient Dimension

You might be familiar with the Dimension script where one could add an even thickness, in whatever color you wanted. This time around, the thickness would follow a gradient, whether it is already made, or based on two or three colors you will choose.

The script will create up to 100 layers following the chosen gradient, to give a unique effect to any shape.

You can start with a vector or a raster layer. It will work well either way.

As a sample, I created a full alphabet using a rainbow gradient for the edge. This will be perfect for your spring themed titles and projects.

New script – Foliage 2

With spring weather, hopefully coming soon, why not create some flowery foliage in any shape you want? It could be letters, digits, symbols, preset shapes, or hand-drawn vector shapes.

You get 5 options for different flowers/foliage: four with flowers and one with only greenery.

You will get matching picture tubes with shadowed and unshadowed versions of the plants used in the script.

Do you want to add a spring title to your next project? You can use this complete alphabet to do it. You get all 26 letters made of foliage with light pink flowers. Aren't they pretty?

New Picture tubes – Diamond Chains

Many years ago, some gold and silver chain picture tubes were added to the store and they were a hit as they were among the most popular new directional tubes. Over the years, different types of chains were added and this time, we wanted to add some bling to anyone's project.

These new picture tubes are from diamond chains. Various designs include a variety of diamond-incrusted chain links.

To win this product, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us if you have used any of the previous gold or silver chain picture tubes (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

For a sampler, I created two frames using different diamond links. You can use those frames to showcase your favorite photo or a quote, or even some journaling on your project.

New script – Photo Zigzag

It is always interesting to use an actual photo and use it to create background papers since they will perfectly match.

This script will use random sections of the photo and create seamless tiles with a zigzag pattern. You can use those tiles in any scale you want to fill any larger canvas. You can generate up to 20 tiles in one run. Keep the tiles you like and discard the others.

As a sampler, I used this St-Patrick photo to generate 6 seamless tiles. All the tiles are 400 pixels wide but of different lengths. They all show some greens but also the white and orange from the Irish flag. This is perfect for you St-Patrick projects. If you find the colors too bright, you can blur them or desaturate them to suit your projects.

New script – Slipped In Corners 1

You can simulate the old method of fastening photos in albums but without actually cutting the background.

This script will use a duplicate of the active layer (where you have your photo) and will create an effect similar to slipped-in corners. You get four options for the shape of the cutout. The end result will not cut anything from the background so you will be able to move the photo wherever you want on your project.

To win this script, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us if you ever created that effect, manually, on your photos (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

As a sampler, I used the dimensions of a standard 7x5 photo, and ran the script on a black rectangle. The script treated the rectangle as a photo, and now, you can replace the rectangle by your own photo. Convert it to a mask if you want, but you can also just trim it. More interesting for you, you can move the linked layers to place the photo somewhere else on the page. Build the rest of the page as you wish with papers under it and elements on top.

New script – Periodical

I have seen someone wear one of those t-shirts where individual tiles spelled out a meaningful word. I was wondering how to create those tiles for any word a user would want. And I did manage to code a script that will use any word you give to generate individual tiles.

The script also allows you to get four different styles with those tiles so they could fit your project.

For a sampler, I created the tiles to spell out the words ADORABLE and TECHNICAL. Each tile has a transparent background so you can add your own, and customize them further.

New script – Photo Circle Template

You might be able to get some ready-made templates to showcase your photos but how about creating some that will perfectly match what you need?

This script will create a template with 6 to 16 repeats of a specific shape. You can choose one of the included shapes, or draw your own for a different effect. Each area will be converted into a mask group to make it easy for you to add your photos.

For a sampler, I am sharing the basic template created to make the preview. It includes eight circular areas for you to showcase your photos, or something else.
