New script – Painted Cardboard

Painted Cardboard script for Paintshop ProWhat do you like about incorporating ripped pieces of papers in a digital project? The rustic look? Maybe. But how do you go around getting those for your layout other than scanning them?

Easy! You use a script in Paintshop Pro!

This script will let you start with any shape, in any color and it will work its magic with just a few questions to answer or choices to make. That's it! It will create the ripped uneven edges, and convert your initial color into strips of uneven paint.

And best of all, every run will yield a different result because of the random function incorporated into the script. If you don't like one result, undo (Ctrl-Z) and run again. It's that easy!

The winner will be announced NEXT week in the newsletter. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Painted Cardboard framesAs a sample, i created 3 frames using this script. All three were made starting with a different gradient instead of a solid color. They are about 6 inches in the longest side so you should be able to get a photo in them.

With this rustic look, you can probably combine those frames with other elements in a cluster. That would be great! Don't you think?

cass-puffypaint-digitsAs a sampler of what you can get with this script, I created a set of digits in "white". You can easily fill them in with the color of your choice for a different look.

Since it is white, you can also consider them as icing digits. And why not fill them with our own Sprinkles?

Each digit is about 400 pixels high in PNG format.

A complete set will be available in the newsletter, so keep an eye on it, this coming Sunday.

New script – Playdough

Playdough texture script for Paintshop ProAs a child, you likely have played with playdough (or plasticine). You must have created textures, poked your finger in it, rolled it to make snakes and used cookie cutters to create various shapes.

Now, with this script, you can replicate that fun effect with any shape and color (even multicolored elements).

The script will generate a texture based on a texture tile but also a random array of settings, making each run create a slightly different texture.

You can choose one of 4 thickness, which will be more appropriate with the size of the project, or the size of the individual element.

The script will even add a drop shadow on a separate layer. If you like that shadow, just keep it. If you prefer to add your own, you can do so too.

New script – Split Text

Split Text script for Paintshop ProHave you ever wanted to create a wordart with half of the text in negative from the rest? It is not too hard to do manually, but it requires accuracy. And then, if you want to create a series, it is longer.

This script will make this process very fast and easy.

The script will let you choose any text, and any font. You can separate the text any way you want in two lines. Then, the magic will happen and the script will split the text either horizontally, vertically or diagonally to create the cutout effect.

New script – Laser Cut Doilies – Rectangle

Rectangle Laser Cut Doilies - script for Paintshop ProWho has too many doilies? In the last few weeks, you got scripts to help you create circular and square doilies, but with a bit of math, I managed to code a script to allow for doilies that have different sizes in height and length.  That is really adding another level of flexibility for your projects.

You can create doilies a wide as 7200 pixels, which would span the width of a double page layout.

It works just like the script to create square doilies but will duplicate the segments unevenly to match the size you want.

Would you want to win this script? Tell me what is the largest size you can think you could use for your doilies (and what you would use them for, in that size). New script – Laser Cut Doilies – Square

cass-lasercutdoilies-squareThe last script that was made available to you was to help you create round laser cut doilies, but what if you want them square? With a bit of coding, I am bringing this to you. It will use a similar process to create the rounded corners, but you will also have the option to modify the design for the straight edges, either by adding more cutouts or removing some. This will allow you to have some unique designs along the straight edges, if you want.

You can create simple and basic designs or make them very intricate and detailed. It is all up to you.
