New script – Torn Edge 2

Torn edge script for Paintshop ProIf you want to get the edges of a photo to be torn, it is fairly easy to do manually since the edges are straight. You can also find some standard size templates for those photos (like in the freebies below). However, if you want to have a torn edge around an element of a different shape, it can be a tedious task to do manually.

This script will use ANY shape and add a torn edge around it. You can also choose the color of the paper that will show on those edges. Even though it will often be white, you can pick ANY color. You can even be creative and use a gradient. Why not?

You can get this script in the store: Torn Edge 2

Torn edges layered templates for photo in psd formatAs a free sampler, i could have created a set of digits or an alphabet, but i thought of making a series of templates that you can use for your photos or your journaling cards. I created 4 templates with fairly standard sizes. Once the script was completed, i extracted the edges to add them as a new layer. That can now allow you to replace the grey layer by your own photo or card or paper.

There is no shadow, so you can also rotate them to be vertical if you prefer.

New script – Bronze It

Paintshop Pro script to add bronze texture to custom designYou have often seen bronzed busts or bronzed baby shoes. Those are "luxurious" elements. You can now add the same rich look to any element for your projects.

This script will turn any black and white element into a bronzed one. You can use it to create an alpha, a brad, a frame, a crest, name plate and more.

You can use any size or shape or design. Best results will be obtained with designs between 500 and 1000 pixels, but you might want a different look with different sizes.

Bronze zodiac signThis week, I thought of making an alphabet but i thought that the bronze texture inspired me to create elements with the 12 zodiac signs. I used a font to create those designs (you didn't think i drew them myself, did you?)

I used a vector shape for the circle then added the zodiac design on top of it. Then, i ran the script on the merged version of this (as the script can only work on ONE layer, and i wanted both the sign and the outline on a single layer).

They are in PNG format, so you can use them with almost any program.

New script – Custom Seal

Custom Seal script for digital scrapbooking with Paintshop ProDo you like the look of a nice "official" seal to put on your project but can't find one in the color you want? Or would you like to find one that has the name of your child, or the name of the city you visited, or the specific date of your last vacation?

Of course, you can't find those in ready-made seals, but you can create your own with this script.

Use any color you want, any text, any design and even any font.

Grab this script in the store and start creating your own custom seals: Custom Seal

Valentine Day Custom Seal in PNG format made from a script in Paintshop ProSince February is coming, and so is Valentine Day, I decided to create a few seals that you could use either on scrapbook pages about your loved one or on custom card or design you might create for him/her.

They are about 1000x1000 pixels so they are large enough to use as is or size down if you need to.

New script – Word Insert

Word insert script for Paintshop ProIf you have used the Word Cutout script, you know that it would only use the edge of the photo. However, sometimes, the edge holds some meaningful parts of the image and you would like to cut the words out of another location.

This is what this script will do. Just like the Word Cutout script, you can choose the text and the font, but this time, you can also select the location INSIDE the image.

That will give you more flexibility and several additional options. now you can pick any area of the photo that would be suitable for a cutout text, even if it is right in the middle!

Word templates in PNG formatUsing a black image, 4000x3000 pixels, i ran the script 3 times to add the individual words of "Live", "Love" and "Laugh". To make them even, i used guides before running the script, so my selections were always the same height. Neat trick!

I repeated the same process for both templates.

So you are getting 2 PNG templates that you can use with your favorite photo.

New script – Jigsaw Puzzle

Jigsaw puzzle script for Paintshop ProAlthough it might be easy to create a simple puzzle with 20 or 30 pieces, it is a whole different story when you want to have hundreds of pieces.

This script will turn any photo into a 300 pieces puzzle, complete with the bevels around each piece.

But that is not all. You also get the option to separate some pieces from the main puzzle. The script will NOT create 300 individual layers (you would get lost) but will separate those pieces YOU select with a single dot. Those pieces will be on separate  layers so you can manipulate them to your liking and pretend that you really have 300 separate pieces!

Wavy edge in painted cardboardSince this script is to be applied to your own photo, i thought i could create a little something using last week's script, the Painted Cardboard.

In fact, i used the Waving script to create the base shapes, and then, ran the Painted Cardboard script to turn them into cardboard.

You get 5 wavy edges. Use them one at the time or layer more than one to insert elements in-between if you want.

The colors are basic white and black on neutral cardboard.

New script – Painted Cardboard

Painted Cardboard script for Paintshop ProWhat do you like about incorporating ripped pieces of papers in a digital project? The rustic look? Maybe. But how do you go around getting those for your layout other than scanning them?

Easy! You use a script in Paintshop Pro!

This script will let you start with any shape, in any color and it will work its magic with just a few questions to answer or choices to make. That's it! It will create the ripped uneven edges, and convert your initial color into strips of uneven paint.

And best of all, every run will yield a different result because of the random function incorporated into the script. If you don't like one result, undo (Ctrl-Z) and run again. It's that easy!

Painted Cardboard framesAs a sample, i created 3 frames using this script. All three were made starting with a different gradient instead of a solid color. They are about 6 inches in the longest side so you should be able to get a photo in them.

With this rustic look, you can probably combine those frames with other elements in a cluster. That would be great! Don't you think?

New script – Puffy Paint

cass-puffypaintNow, you can use your Paintshop Pro to add a fun line of puffy paint around an edge of a shape or a letter.

You can replicate that uneven look of puffy paint in various colors or thickness, with this script.

Every run of the script will give you a different look because of the random feature coded in the script.

cass-puffypaint-digitsAs a sampler of what you can get with this script, I created a set of digits in "white". You can easily fill them in with the color of your choice for a different look.

Since it is white, you can also consider them as icing digits. And why not fill them with our own Sprinkles?

Each digit is about 400 pixels high in PNG format.

A complete set will be available in the newsletter, so keep an eye on it, this coming Sunday.
