You might be able to find some ready-made wooden windows in PNG format but what if you could create your own, to perfectly match your project? Use the same wood, or adjust the size or format of the window.
With this script, the possibilities are endless. Even if you have a smaller image to start with, the script will join several pieces in a dovetail manner, just like a carpenter would do.
You can create a single window, or place two tall windows, side by side for a totally different look.
Add those windows to a digital scrapbook project as a way to showcase an outdoor scene, or use each individual glass pane to place individual photos.
You can create an elegant window or a rustic one, depending on the wood texture image you start with.

This week, i went a bit out of my comfort zone and created a cluster with a sample window. I had fun using a curly ribbon and wrapping it around the sides of the window, and then, just added some flowers and greenery.
The whole window with the cluster is a bit over 2000 pixels.
You can use this window and place a large image behind it, or just leave it as is. I think it is cute on its own too! And i am sure you can do something similar with different types of windows. A great way to customize the window to match your project.

wow this is a great idea. I do use frames like a window, so with these it would look even more like a frame. I would use it in a composition with a wall, make it look like if we look out of the window, put a picture of a landscape behind the frame.
oooh ist das schön,
vielen Dank fürs teilen.
I have a soft spot for windows. And frames so this combines them both in a way. It could be used as a template to hold various photos to. Lovely!!
I love all of the tiny glass panes, except when it is time to clean them. These are perfect, as no cleaning is needed.
I would use these for a Christmas page, with frost in the bottom corners. Looking in at the Christmas tree, or out at the snowy landscape; either would be magical.
I remember transom windows above the classroom doors at school, 5 panes across and 2 high.
Now, you can recreate exactly that window!
My thoughts?? I might use it to display stuff in a ‘curio cabinet’ style or maybe I’d insert a picture behind the window & then create a matching window box (with same wood color/texture/pattern) and place it against the bottom of the window & fill it with flowers.
I never thought of a curio cabinet. What a neat idea.
I would use the windows in a variety of ways as a multi photo frame, as a curio cabinet for favorite mementos or souvenirs from a trip, as an actual window looking inside perhaps at Christmas with frost, with condensation and kids drawings on the glass and photos of them playing, and other weather effects such as rain for other photo. These would be great to highlight photos of scenery. The list goes on and on!
I make “pixel clothes and accessories” for a 3D virtual world, IMVU. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to create my product ads. I used the freebie Wooden Window Cluster (thank you!) in my latest ad. Here’s a link to my product page — you’ll need to scroll slightly. I’m getting rave reviews for this ad in my Facebook groups! http://www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=32274490
So versatile, lots of uses for windows. I would use it as previous comments, or maybe as an Advent Window instead of a Calendar.
That is an interesting idea. I never would have thought of that. You better do that next Christmas!
