Do you like the look of those stylized layered flowers but can't stand the time it takes to do the rotating, duplicating, resizing and all that manually? This script will do all the hard work while you will only have to draw a single petal.
You can create a layered flower template in any size, from 500 to 1800 pixels (so up to about 6 inches). The script will open an image of the size you want, and place a single dot in the center. That is to help you draw the petal up to the center. Don't worry, that dot and that layer will be removed automatically. Use any tool you want to draw the petal shape: freehand brush, tube, vector, etc. The color does not matter as it will be turned to black and grey by the script. Afterall, it is a template!
From that single petal, the script will calculate how many repeats can be done based on the size of the petal and the size of the flower and will randomly pick a number of repeats and will create the first layer of the flower. At that point, you get to pick one of 4 options for the layered pieces: alternate where the petals will be alternatively rotated or not rotated, incremential where you will see the petals rotate gradually, a bit like a pinwheel, random or none. How many layers you will get? That is another random value. How much difference in size between the different layers? Another random value.
Although you can start with the same petal shape, and choose the same option, you can easily get many variations of flower templates.
