Add Caption to Image
This is a simple utility script whose purpose is to add a caption consisting of the image's name to the bottom of an image without altering the image's size. The caption will be added in small black text centered along the bottom of the image. If desired, a white banner can be used behind the text - this banner can be the entire width of the image as in the sample above, or just behind the text. See samples of other options in the Notes and Tips section below.
Place the ss-AddCaption script in your Scripts-Restricted folder, or run the script from this Quick Guide (see Running the Script below).

To run this script, open the image to which you wish to add the caption, select the ss-AddCaptions script in the scripts list and press play.

![]() | If a banner is used, both the banner and the text are created on separate layers - called Banner and Text, respectively - so you can make adjustments after the script runs, if needed.

![]() | If you choose to use the smaller banner, placed behind the text only rather than the full width of the image, the Banner and Text layers will be linked and the Move tool will be activated. This will facilitate moving the caption and banner, should that be needed.
