New script – Prefix Renamer

Prefix renamer script for PaintShop ProSometimes, you have long filenames for your supplies and for whatever reason, you would like to shorten them. Doing it manually, one file at a time is tedious to say the least.

This script will let you choose what prefix you want to replace and by what. You can replace a long name by a shorter one, or by some initials. You can even change the name of the kit on all your files if you want. Although I expect you to use the script to shorten the names, you can just change them instead.

New Script – Alpha-Maker

Alpha-Maker script for PaintShop ProIf you like to have a title made from a specific paper from a kit but not have everything too even, you will love this script. It will take only a few seconds to create a complete alphabet with slightly varied designs, shading, and pattern. You can choose any number of papers to create individual letters either in order or in random order.

Other options allow you to add an outline in any color and even to create a squiggled outline.

As a sampler, I used a single paper from a kit called The Good Life, by Marisa Lerin. That paper had shadings of orange so the individual characters are all slightly different since they were selected from different sections of that single paper.

New script – Raster to Mask

If you like to use templates to speed your scrapbooking process, using ready-made templates have some draw-backs and could require additional steps to make them as flexible as you need. And to manipulate them one by one, manually, although it is easy, can be tedious.

This is why this script will be a time-saver as you can quickly convert that raster shape into a mask group, and then, repeat the process wherever you have a layer that is in a shape you would like to replicate with your photo or paper. Then, you have the flexibility to adjust those photos or papers the way you like them.

This week, since the product added in the store is a tool, I chose to create another template like last week, with slats, but this time, you can showcase your little ghosts or goblins from last Halloween.

New script – Gradients Library

Gradients Library script for PaintShop ProIf you want to view your gradients, looking at the little thumbnails in the Materials Palette is not the best way. But if you want, you can now make a larger image that you can even print, to display all the gradients in a specific folder. Make sure you read the instructions because you will have to edit your script before running it.

Popsicle puzzle As a sample, with summer coming, with the warmer weather, I thought you might like a set of fresh popsicles. This is made from the Wooden Puzzle 2 script, and all the pieces are grouped together, allowing you to move the whole set onto your next project. Once that is done, you can ungroup the pieces and move them around, individually.

New script – Dated

Dated script for PaintShop Pro to add EXIF date to a photoSome cameras will automatically add a date on your photo and often, you might want to remove those dates to concentrate on the photo itself. However, in other situations, adding a date might be needed. If your camera took the photo while saving the EXIF information, this script will retrieve that date and add it on your photo. You get to choose whether you want the date on the left or the right of the photo and in which color.

Although adding this date to a single photo is possible and quite simple, the script can also add the date on all the photos in a particular folder. In one run!

Get it in the store: Dated

In order to win this script, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us whether save the EXIF or not, with your photos (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Valentine Wooden Puzzle for PaintShop ProAs a sampler, I decided to play with a recent script, the Wooden Puzzle 2, to make you a Valentine theme puzzle. This is a .pspimage (so the file is fairly big) and each element is part of a group, so you can copy and paste it onto any other project, and since all the layers are unmerged, you can move the pieces around as you wish.

New script – Adjustment Layers Group

Adjustment layers group script for Paintshop ProAdjustment layers are applied to all the layers below them, in the Layers Palette. But what if you want to adjust only one element, on one single layer? You can still do it, if you add that layer into a group that will include that specific layer you want to modify. It takes a few clicks, but with these scripts, a group will automatically be created and the adjustment layer will be inserted. Just fewer clicks than doing it manually.

This is actually a set of 13 scripts; one for each adjustment layer available. And if you are using an older version of PSP that does not have all 13, the script will let you know that your version is not compatible with that particular adjustment layer.

Oh, and it is FREE too!

Plush bear sample of the Plush texture in Paintshop ProAs a sampler for this week, obviously, I can't give you anything done with that script, since it is a tool, but since the Plush Texture script was quite popular, I decided to create a fun plush teddy bear.

I started with a bear made of vector layers and I added a plush texture to each of them, then adjusted the colors to give a bit more contrast in some areas.

The whole bear is almost 3600 pixels high so you have plenty of room to resize it to fit your project.

Remember that you can create the same kind of plush element with the Plush Texture script. It is worth the work!

New script – Confetti Maker

Confetti Maker script for Paintshop ProEvery project can use confetti, either to add a feel of freedom or to emphasize particular colors of the featured photo. But it might be hard to find the exact colors in a ready-made confetti element. This script will really create a unique set of confetti tubes, with the exact colors you want, in addition to various other settings of your choice.

After running the script, you can use and reuse the resulting picture tube as often as you want, to add a little touch of confetti, or to completely fill an area to make a backgroundd.

Get it in the store: Confetti Maker

In order to win this script, add a comment on this Facebook post telling us what colors you would like to see in a set of confetti tubes (remember, add a comment, not just a Like!) The winner will be announced in the newsletter, next week. In addition, the color choices from the winner will be turned into a free picture tube that will be given to all the posters. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

Spring confetti picture tubes for Paintshop ProAlways hoping for spring to come, I chose to use some spring-y colors and create a set of rectangular confetti. Maybe it will make spring come faster?

New script – Page Maker – Photo

cass-PageMaker-PhotoWhen you have a whole album, how many photos would you need? If you want to use layered templates to complete your project faster, you still might have to add dozens of photos. How long would it take you to open each of those photos, copy them, paste them on the template, in the correct layer, resize them, center them in the correct location, crop or trim them and save the layout when all the images are added? Just listing those steps in here, i am out of breath!

Now, imagine that you have 200 vacation photos that you want to place into 25 pages from layered templates. How long will it take you? Would you like it if most of the tedious tasks were done for you, leaving you only the tweaking to do?

This script will do just that. Layered templates are meant to save you time as they are great starting points, but this script will make it even more of a time saver by placing those photos FOR YOU, while you can do something else. You don't even need to be beside the computer once you completed the first few steps.

Michele tested this script and let the script work for almost 3 hours on its own. Yes, totally on its own (unsupervised) and it placed over 1400 photos in 49 templates she had. No stopping and starting and stopping again. Even if she took ONE minute per photo (which would be quite fast), it would have taken her 20 hours!!!

Do you want a chance to win this script? In the comments below, tell me how many photos you would average in a full scrapbook album. I'll pick a winner at random and announce it in the newsletter, next week. Not a subscriber yet? Not a problem. You can register here and it is free (and you only get one email per week).

cass-StripCluster-02As a little sampler today, I created a couple of strip clusters using the Strip Cluster script. I used Southern Creek Design's kit, Spring Thing for that.

When running the script, I created 5 or 6 clusters and picked my two favorite. I tweaked them a little, added shadows (including one for the curled ribbon).

I think it has some really fresh colors. What do you think?

New script – Snap On

cass-SnapOnYou might be using guides to align elements together, but what if you have a specific element already in place and you want to align everything else with it. How do you place exact guides on the edge or in the center of that element? It is pretty tedious to be exact. That is why I created this quick script.

Activate any layer and run the script. In a single click, the script will place 6 guides around and in the center of the content of the active layer. Then, use those guides to align other elements with it.

Once you are done, you can use the bonus script, also included, called Snap Off, which will delete all the guides from the active image.

Best of all, it is FREE.

cass-Quilling-HeartThis week, since I cannot make a sample out of this script, i decided to create an element using last week's script: the Quilling one.

Using a heart shape as a base, i added various swirls in vector format and converted all those lines into a quilling project.

The heart element is about 1500 pixels wide, so you can size it down if you want. The shadows ARE included.

There are two versions of this heart: one with a white fill in the center, and one without.

They are in png format, so they can be used in most graphic programs.
